hail is great as long as it doesn't hit your house/car

Well not your nice car anyway :) I've pocketed a few bucks on hail storms but dammint to hell I have my 99 Durango outside until we get the shed to put the mowers in. Don't like it at all! Crossing fingers.

Wait. In a hail storm, the mowers are in the garage???

I was thinking the same thing myself .. kinda stupid isn't it? But it's two riders and if they are not in the garage they might not be in my yard in the morning either. Should have the shed within few weeks and I'm thinking of putting the 2008 outside and bringing the Durango inside until then.

When we had a one car garage, it was a constant battle between my new Vette and Pamela's new Rx-8 on who had dibs. Got ugly sometimes.... Thank gawd we moved.

Good for you brother. We spent a long time looking for our house, in a relatively small community so choices were limited. The house, school district, and community is excellent. The only things we compromised on was garage size and yard space/not out on the outskirts of town or slightly in the country. So the garage while a two car is a new two car garage and barely fits the to drivers in and not much else ... and the worst (small town old school upbringing) part is the the second thing we compromised on was lot size so there's no room to add on or build another garage. So I'm F'd on that unless we move which may happen once kids are raised on on their own,

Group hug. ;)

My customers love hail storms cuz they get a whole house makeover (exterior) for free.

Man that's so true Ross. I got the money to redo my roof, metal trim, an exterior door, and all gutters from the Ins co. last year from a hail storm. It's a two story. But I had 2 roofs replaced last year on my Mothers houses, all new windows, porch railing, and gutters on one. Both houses look brand new and I got them to find it in the budget to do a lot of extra work on both. I also had asbestos shingles taken off my Dad's old house and replaced some sheeting and added housewrap and recovered with vinyl .. was so busy I didn't get to mine.

I'm gonna get my roof replaced and other work done this year .. any tips? I'll be looking for an established local company and the shingles are / will be architectural. I recently ordered a shed that will be here soon as mentioned earlier and it just occured to me to get the roofers to put the same shingles on the new shed to make them match. Any advice on brand names of shingles or anything else that I might not think of regarding the work on my house?
