NOS windshield washer bottles in abundance though.

I think Cadillac had one as well around these years and the Mercedes S-class had one for US markets only, about noone in Europe wanted this with even higher gas prices.

Not old enough to remember that, but I'm sure you get my point.

To get a 340 to beat a 440 back in the day was all done by throttle. Pistons, cam, valve train, ignition, headers, manifold and carb, porting heads, 4:10 rear gear, B&M trans and Holeshot stall converter, M&H Racemaster slicks, etc. Which to me was a hell of an accomplishment.

Even the modern NorthStar engine was a disaster. Oil consumption. I had a 2002 Deville. I bought it with 18k mile. It would consume (not leak) a quart of oil every 1500 mile and trip the the low oil level red light on the dash. That sh*t drives me absolutely nuts. Took it to the local Cadillac dealer (no longer in business) to validate the oil consumption and after the validation the dealer said it was an acceptable rate of oil consumption.......no warranty engine replacement. That's when I got the truck. I wanted a truck (Ram), the wife wanted a Nissan. So like a puss, I gave in and bought a Nissan Titan. Which I've had for 6 years.......not a single problem ever.

It seems to be suffice to establish the consumption as normal in the owner's manual. Old Mercedes engines of the 60s could use up to half a pint for 65 miles according to the manual !

I usually don't bother with racing against other Mopar guys......we're all family. Curiously enough most of them in the new Challengers or Chargers seem to have something to prove against and old Newport at every stop light than against new Camaroes or Mushstangs.

A Cadillac consuming any oil is not acceptable to me.

1969 Chrysler Imperial curb weight - 4,801lbs

1970 Dodge Challenger curb weight - 3428lbs

only a few hundred pounds??

My Polaras weigh in at 4000 pounds, give or take a few pounds. A local fellow here has a 73 Challenger with a 440 with 3 2's and it weighed in at 4200 pounds...your being unreasonable and looking for extremes to try and prove your point.

I just don't know HOW Chrysler got along without you heading up their engineering/production activities in those days. Its a miracle they got as far as they did without throwing 340 motors in Polaras, I mean who would have thought???

Your condescending tone is amusing ......Drive one then tell me about it. You really belong over there on the DryDock with Stans friend.
