I don't like to dilute my rhubarb with anything. A nice rhubarb crumble/crisp is great, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Tart Cherries. This year the cherries will come from my acreage. Oh, and I use brown sugar and make the crust from scratch.What did you contaminate the rhubarb with?
I liked my mom's rhubarb pie before she added the strawberries, I'm not a fan of the seeds, never liked them. Before that, I could eat half a pie as a kid. Haven't touched the stuff in decades.

Rhubarb/apple crisp. Possibly throw in some Saskatoons for good measure.

Have not had or even seen rhubarb in 35 years.
I would pluck a piece and chew on it. Man that was some sour stuff.

Growing up in Ohio my granny used to can it in mason jars ? Probably added sugar I’m guessing? All I know is when she pulled one of those cold jars from the refrigerator and poured it in a soup bowl it was AMAZING. I think she boiled it in a sauce pan and then canned it so it was runny like a soup.

My mom used to make sauce and pie from rhubarb. We've got some rhubarb plants that are growing like trees this year. My wife has frozen it and made some wonderful desserts. Our favorite is probably rhubarb cheese cake.

Today, pie #1 is presently in the oven.
From the 3 1-gallon ziplock freezer bags of rhubarb that my girlfriend harvested, I used about 1/8th of it. That means about 8 more pies...

The wife just canned 6 jars of rhubarb relish (or chutney) today. It’s great on pork chops or roast. If you haven’t tried it I highly recommend it. Next she will be freezing some this week to use in crisps during the winter months.
