I got the fuel pump removed, I was able to get the compression fitting on the hard line loosened, cleaned up the hard line and fuel pump surface on the engine cleaned up and installed the fuel pump.

I go by the 140 or 200 mile rule for fill ups, depending on the car. Although the wagon does have a working gauge, with a cooked engine.Installed fuel sending unit. Existing one works, but is missing the float. Verified resistance of both. 10.5 - 75 ohms.
Gauge now registering a fuel level!
