Morning.

replacing starter on the subject car. NAPA lists the modern starters as a replacement option. What are your thoughts?

Do wires bolt right up? Does the starter bolt right up? Is the modern starter a better option?

Thanks.

There are several threads in here on upgrading to the modern starter for vintage Mopars. Some applications have different terminal hookups, as to their angle and such, with adapter kits to better match what the earlier starters had on them.

Investigate if the NAPA starters come with any kind of terminal adapters/relocation kits. Core charge issues?

Please let us know on how it all works out,

Modern is better, IF it fits. The only true clockable starter and problem solver that is very strong for me has been the MCRobb starter, but it is expensive, and you still may need to grind the block.

That is it, I really thought I checked O'Reilly's

Thank you!
Hi Jack
Terminal Relocation Kit link below. EBay Seller is FCBO member
Pardon Our Interruption...
There's some problem where I post an Ebay link and it puts "pardon...
Link works but looks weird.
Seller is Mattman's Mopars on eBay. You could find his store if the link does not work

Thank you for the info

No kits at NAPA for conversion

I’ll probably get old one rebuilt

Good rebuilder in town

Thanks guys

I would rebuild the original if you have a good rebuilder in town and never have to touch it again, before I put a rebuilt Altima, rebuilt by who knows from a company, Altima, I never heard of.

I agree

So here’s the rest if the story

This is my sister and brother in laws car

Wouldn’t atart

New battery

Their neighbor got it to turn over by hitting starter

Had it towed to me my nephew was going to come over and I’d guide him in changing it

Checked it out yesterday

Loose battery connection…….
