What's good AC pressure on low side at idle?

I have filled the system twice now, I'm kind of noticing the AC compressor stays engaged, it never stops, even when full of refrigerant.

Is this normal??

On GM cars it cycles on and off

I've yet to see it cycle off

If I turn off ac it does engage clutch and turn off though

It doesn't cycle.

Look at the last post on page one of this forum. It depends on the year of the car. In the early to mid 70's, they did start cycling the compressor for better fuel economy. It was based on the temperature of the evap-GM also used it around the same time, but they later went to a pressure cycling system. People started to complain that the car felt like it was surging. It was about the same time, the power output (due to emission controls) were dropping quickly.

Gonna fille my AC system up, what's normal low side AC and high side pressure at idle? Thanks! It's 2.5 pounds right ? The shop manuals are confusing about this stuff hah thanks!
