1966 Newport 383 — Factory Mechanical Fan & Spacer Part Numbers?

I’m sorry, I don’t understand. Could you clarify?
What he’s saying in addition to his fan/shroud recommendation you should make sure all the areas surrounding the radiator are blocked off so that the air has nowhere else to go but through the radiator.

Unfortunately you are not going to see much more benefit of the 26” rad pulling through the 22” opening…

Ah, I see. I figure the radiator will still hold more coolant and have more surface area, so while it won’t work as well as it would with the correct core support, it should still perform better than the smaller 22" setup with a four-blade fan.

Update:

I apologize for the delay in updates — the holidays have been hectic.

Anyway, about a week ago I found the complete fan setup on eBay. It included the 4-blade fan (PN: 2265034), the 1.720" thick spacer (PN: 1674746), and the factory hardware.

According to the factory parts book, these should be the correct parts that originally came on the vehicle.

I may still upgrade to the 7-blade setup down the road, but this will do for now.

I’ll let you guys know how the 4-blade install goes.

Chris
