I don't have a C-body but was drawn to them as a possible tow vehicle for a '64 Airstream (3200 lbs). Wally Byam (Airstream's founder) said Chryslers were the best tow vehicles. I have had many old cars over the years so I think I know what I'm getting into. I went to the Mopar Alley show a couple weeks ago in Cupertino but there were very few C bodies - probably more in the parking lot than in the car show.

I like the '64-'66 years- the New Yorker and 300 are nice, and factory air conditioning would be a big plus.

thanks,
Carl

Welcome...
I think you're liking the 65/66 cars rather than 64/65. Two different generations.
A New Yorker is your ticket.
Nice choice!

Welcome to the site. It is funny I am in the other boat. I am not even a camper, but I thought it would be cool to find an old Airstream to restore and pull behind my '66 300.

I went to the show last year and mine was one of the three present. One a 66 Fury, one a 65 New Yorker and my 73 Polara. I elected not to go this year.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

After a year's search, I finally bought a tow vehicle for my vintage Airstream trailer. It's a 1965 New Yorker in "Formal Black". That's my son in the picture from when we went to look at it the first time. It has factory air which was a requirement for family comfort, but no other power options. It's 99.9% stock and unmolested.

You will probably see more posts in the near future as I attempt to assemble the parts that were offered as a tow package.

thanks in advance,
Carl

That's a beauty, Carl. Yes, more posts please and thank you.

Beautiful ride! Let's see some more photos!

I work in Campbell and drive my '73 "Banana boat" down here from the Peninsula three days a week. I'm usually around here and in the Cambrian area for site visits.
If I'm on the street, you can't miss me! Would love to see your car...

Damn that looks nice! You need to park that in front of the airstream so we (i) can see how it looks hooked up. Nice find Carl.

Nice reflection of the bridge! Those airstream trailers are something else.
