After a year's search, I finally bought a tow vehicle for my vintage Airstream trailer. It's a 1965 New Yorker in "Formal Black". That's my son in the picture from when we went to look at it the first time. It has factory air which was a requirement for family comfort, but no other power options. It's 99.9% stock and unmolested.

You will probably see more posts in the near future as I attempt to assemble the parts that were offered as a tow package.

thanks in advance,
Carl

CONGRATS ON YOUR FIND CARL!! Car looks GREAT - a true classic in "Black" and I'm sure it'll look fantastic pulling that Airstream! Post more pics and keep us updated.

I don't have any better pictures yet of the New Yorker.

Kevin Harner owned this car for 20+ years and he used to enter it in the "survivor" category at Chryslers at Carlisle. So some of you east coasters may know the car.

Here's a nice gallery of photos from a dealer that sold the car after Kevin owned it.

She's a Beauty! Well, good things come to those who wait. Looks to me you came out ahead over the wagon for sure! You wanted original and unmolested and you definitely got it. The interior looks much more comfortable than the wagon - much prefer the 50/50 cloth. EXCELLENT SCORE!!!

Finally had a chance to hitch up the trailer and test out my hitch. I was able to adjust the load distributing hitch to get the trailer level and reduce much of the sag on the Chrysler. Here's a couple photos:

I still need to change out the differential to a 3.23 SureGrip and put heavy duty springs in the rear.
