My 2018 RAM Longhorn

At least the Big trucks still have the shifter lever, even though theyre not mechanical, it still feels better than the knob . I hate the four wheel drive on a knob, I want the floor shifter

The 4 wheel drive controls are seperate buttons on the dash.

I meant to do that with mine but I keep putting it off

I asked the Dodge boys where they have the vehicles undercoated and it' the same guys that doing my topper. I'll save $100 by taking the truck there myself.

Auto and Truck Outfitters. I don't know if they are regional or national. They are all over Maryland.

I'll take the knob over the pushbutton switches for 4x4. Besides, no room for one with a console.

We have truck places here that do it and undercoating places here . I just keep saying " not yet" . :BangHead: which is stupid

Yeah, because you have the 8 speed in the 1500 . To the best of my knowledge the 2500/3500 still have the 6 speed. Perhaps Graham can throw some light on the differences

Very nice truck! Is that one of those night black out models? What color is that???
Bob, It is the brilliant black, monotone. Costs extra for that paint in Longhorn. I did not want the two tone paint. The Sport package is a black out, but does not have all of the options I wanted. (really would like the black out, and may swap out the grill for the Sport black out) I thought about the interior package that you have, but ordered the black with saddle tan, so the interior has tan leather similar to the Ford "King Ranch". The leather is like saddle leather. A lot of other interesting things on the truck. It rides exceptionally well for a 3/4 ton. Pleasantly so. I am kind of hijacking your post.
Regards, Clark

Yes, the 2500 has the 6 speed, actually a better trans than my 07 3500 diesel. Very nice.

The 8/9 speed transmissions use the selector knob as they are completely electronicly shifted. The HD trucks use a column mounted selector similar to what we are used to. The TF trannies are completly self contained and are for the most part non servicable. No dipstick is present and until recently they were a remove and replace only. I prefer a shifter myself as unintended movement has been a problem in the past ....AMHIK

Graham, is the eco engine feature only available on gas V8's? Only runs on 4 cylinder when the green eco light illuminates on the dash?

What is this undercoat you speak of? And what does it do?
You'd be amazed by the stuff... they put roofing tar on the bottom of the truck... in a couple of decades it is all that holds it together... as an added bonus, you can pay extra for a thick coating on the frame to allow it to slide better on the lifts pads during oil changes and such... makes the truck much more exciting for the service department.:D
