Actually I know very well what we use in our harnesses. Once again it is all dependant on what the circuit is. But also you have to take into account that the grade of wire used back then compared to what we use now. Most of the time we will still use the same size wire that the factory used...

They are the same as the Autometer gauge lights. Autometer also sells one that is a metal housing with a single wire or the two wire style.

Are the lights pulsing when all this is going on? That is typically a result of a bad ground on the voltage regulator.

Is the factory ammeter still hooked up?

Yeah it fit really good under there and had no problems with fitment.

I have a 275/60/15 on a 15x10 under my black 65. The tire in the pic is a 28x10.5 drag slick

Make sure you bypass the ammeter and make sure you have not started melting the bulkhead connector. Those are the two weakest points in the car for the main power wiring. Also make sure that the body of the regulator has a dedicated ground. That is the biggest problem on these charging systems.

You likely have a battery cable loose at the starter. Had that happen way too many times. That or you have a starter relay goind bad.

We use that same connector here at Painless. The switch you have should match up to that connector it will just not have a terminal in all of the same places. If not switch the switch over to a 72 duster and it will make it much easier down the road to replace if you have to. They will fit in...
