For Sale 1968 chrysler imperial convertible parting out!

Does this car still have the convertible top latch receivers? The part at the top of the windshield, not the part on the top itself.

Steering wheel wants to turn right while idling, steering gear adustment or front-end alignment?

Go easy on the valve body adjusting (as in, don't start whacking like crazy with a ball peen - 1 or 2 light taps at most) and whatever you do, do NOT put your arm through the inner portion of the steering wheel when you start the car after adjusting it.

    Where to get a windshield?

Another point of interest with some of these and for sure the last one I bought from auto city is that it was thin. I don't care. My car was a glue in but for a gasketed wndow it might be loose in the rubber. I would also guess that they may Crack from rock chips easier.

Steering wheel wants to turn right while idling, steering gear adustment or front-end alignment?

The top of the steering gear has a valve body (Pressure assist valve/spool valve) that is held in place by two bolts. The bolt holes on the valve body are slotted so that the valve body can be moved up or down. Moving the valve body will correct the self turning of the steering wheel, this...

I'm glad to see that it went to a good home. It's really not the right car for what I want to do. Being a pretty rare car in an oddball color combination, it should be restored to how it left the factory. I had my mind set on a dark blue car, and even a Fury III would fit the bill, as I...

Other than local Facebook stuff, I haven't been keeping an eye on the C body market for at least 5 years now, so I have no idea how often top dog cars are coming up for sale. As luck will have it, when something comes up that interests you, it'll be over here in PA or Jersey. Jeff

Had been after it for years as well, guy who runs the place now is a super nice guy, they had some amazing Mopars. Chris Birdsong got a bunch of cars out of there.

    72 Newport/front sway bar

The iron block Hemi V8 is considerably heavier than the all aluminum V6, so yes. However later V6's got the rear sway bar. I figured I try it and I like it. It fishtails so evenly now it's unbelievable. On snow of course, it is a 4000 pound car with a V6. 51/49 f/r weight distribution doesn't hurt.

I think I have a pic of the tag too, but can't find it right now. This one is the only one I can find. No question that it's the same car. This was taken back in 2010, which is when I found out about it. Jeff

Steering wheel wants to turn right while idling, steering gear adustment or front-end alignment?

Adjustment of what? The steering gear, or the castor / camber / toe ? Why doesn't the service manual describe this situation in the problems / solutions section? And one more variable to add to the mix - the power steering fluid. I was using ATF+4. After the stub swap, I have some sort of...
