Engine swap should I go 360 or 383

Poly 318s can be made to run well. How fast are you looking to make it. A good intake and carb, along with a good cam and lifters will wake that motor up. Put in a good set of gears and it will perform like a different car. Even if the parts cost a little more it will still be less than a...

Engine swap should I go 360 or 383

Go 360. Lighter in wieght, can make the same or more power as a big block for less money. Even if you get a later 5.9L Magnum engine and convert it to carburetor you stil gain over the Poly. MAke sure you use a B&M flex plate as 360's are externally balanced. That way you can use any torque...

Engine swap should I go 360 or 383

I had the same dilemma with my 65 Belvedere wagon. 273 ran great but didn't have any get up and go. I went with a 360 and glad I did. Added an 8 3/4 SG with 3.23s. Much easier than doing a full big block conversion. I drive it everywhere.

    The Hurst Registry

Not volunteering either ;) but here are a couple of pages with information about the '69 Hurst Olds production. I'm assuming the Chryslers were modified somewhere in the Detroit area and not at Demmer in Lansing, so the process may or may not have been similar? 69 Hurst/Olds VIN Info...

Floor's done. Braced the rockers totally, started cutting out the very last of the floor. I intended to finish this smooth, but frankly at this point i want the world to see the 12 hours of welding i put into this thing. 23-1/2 feet of it. Also the posi in the rear end is incredibly good...

Mine had the original hub caps when I bought it. Thought they were kind of boring. Switched to 17 in torque thrusts.

Put some 3.23 or 3.55 gears behind that poly and see how much better it is.

Wondering where I can buy one of these.... whatever it's called....

Looks like you are right... a repair seems to be the only way to go... Fortunately, it isn't readily noticeable and I can still enjoy driving the vehicle.

Oh no I bought another one 1970 Newport Convertible

What is so special about an N code car? It was his dad's car. Another solid Nevada car. That's all I know about the history of the car. I do have the build sheet I will post It is all tore apart/disassembled. I think drugs or alcohol were involved in that.

1968 Plymouth fury III BULKHEAD HELP

Funny - I'm working on that right now: I bought some connectors and spades off ebay a few weeks ago. I pulled the bulkhead connector out of the firewall to work on it. It was easy, the car ended at the firewall - no stub frame, no fenders, no engine. BUT - there's practically no spare wire...

    66 Fury front suspension

I would like to convert my 1966 Fury III to disc brakes front and rear. Are there OEM spindles, calipers and rotors that can be used to replace the OEM front drum breaks? Are there any OEM parts to convert the rear drum brakes to disc brakes? Thanks for the help.

Engine swap should I go 360 or 383

REGARDLESS of which engine you decide on, if the car does not have a (optional on 318 cars, std on 383s) front sway bar, GET ONE from the salvage yard. In reality, it should have been standard on 318 cars, but was not, usually. Might need to upgrade the brakes with the heavier 383, too...
