Went to a Car Show Today - Only C Body was Mine (as usual)

I believe that distinction has been stolen, first by the Pontiac Aztec, then by the Slobberooo Tribecca.

Went to a Car Show Today - Only C Body was Mine (as usual)

That's why I fixed a brown 4 door, to help restore balance, lol.

    My 71 Polara

Probably not happening in the near future. This is the first car that my gearhead six year old daughter has "helped" me on, and I think she is more proud of the car than I am. Kinda makes it a keeper.

    My 71 Polara

Since the 383 was pulled by the guy I got the car from, and the 383 I have needs rebuilt, the Y pipe wasn't going to work with the temporary 318. The tailpipe was pretty crusty, and almost broke off upon removal. Still had good factory hangers, but the pipe itself not so much.

    My 71 Polara

Got the exhaust done Monday night. Ran 2 1/4 back to a pair of glass packs under the rear seat, then 2 inch tailpipes straight out the back. Can you say cackle? My daughter, age six, was deeply disappointed because the car is now "too quiet". I am convinced that she's a redneck motorhead. Thank...

Help a newbie out on big block engines...

One trick I have used to ID B vs RB engines in yards is the width of the intake at the "points". Frequently the A/C compressor is in the way of seeing the pad on the RBs, but a quick measurement between the rear points of the intake will tell you which family, B or RB. I just wish I could...

    New(old) heads for engine rebuild?

And with the larger chambers, they are an excellent way to drop the compression ratio from the 9.25 you have down to about 8.4. And just think of the great 7.5 to 1 blower motor one could build if these were installed on a 71 up 8.4 to 1 318...... No thanks. I would rather port 318 heads.

    My 71 Polara

Nope. The first C body I ever drove was a 69 Fury 2, 2 door post. First C I owned was a rusty 69 Fury 3 4 door hardtop that I bought as a parts car, and liked the looks enough that when the post car presented itself a month later, it was done deal. I was 18 at the time, so of course that post...

Yep, Suburban Dodge. If I ever decide to part with her, you have first refusal. Find me a 69 Fury 2 2 door post and I'll swap!

    My 71 Polara

Car was still wearing a pair of Firestone Deluxe Power Cushion H78-15 tires on the rear, has no wear on the drivers door striker, no pedal pad wear, and I power washed the factory cosmoline off of the lower control arms and clear coated them. Yeah, I'm fairly certain that's the original mileage.

    My 71 Polara

Two or three BB size holes in the drivers rocker, one BB size hole in drivers quarter. About 80 percent original paint. Only the drivers front door appears to have ever been painted, from the molding down. Has a few minor dings. I am the fourth owner. Car was bought new in Duncansville, PA...

    My 71 Polara

Going to be putting a set of the "red ring" 69-71 era Dodge dog dishes on as soon as I paint a set of wheels and get some new rubber. As for the vinyl, it's almost perfect, with just one small spot of something white that doesn't seem to wash off. About 80 percent of the paint is still the...

    My 71 Polara

Couple crappy pictures of my current large barge. I grew up in these cars, and learned to drive in them. My wife doesn't understand why I like this old sled more than my A bodies, pickup, Durango, etc.

    New(old) heads for engine rebuild?

Correct. All magnums use basically a 360 truck pan.
