So I drove the hour and a half to see this car.... YUP they want $200,00.00 for the car.
This car is a true garage find, been sitting since 1985 in the garage. She is as solid as a rock as they come and a lot nicer than the photos in the ad shows. The owners were extremely nice and welcoming but much like the $60,000 polara from Ohio they have been talking to the wrong people.

Considering that Hemmings has a 1968 Shelby KR 500 convertible for sale at 189,900 this guy is seriously out to lunch.

They must have reckoned that beauty you drove over in to be worth about a cool $Mil then Dave.

I think it's pretty cool that you drove over to document it.

I had to do it, you never know. I really thought the comma was in error.

They had little interest in my car , but I always take it to look at another polara. Its an ice breaker and it makes the seller more comfortable about the stranger they are dealing with.

They must be living under a rock and came out just in time to see a Barret Jackson rerun from '08 and decided to sell.

Funny thing about these hills in PA. It seems the people don't see to much of the outside world.... In this case, a few have given them misinformation and the owners are also reading into those words.

What were you saying about being humble....LOL!

I think that is being very diplomatic.

What would you do Bob?

At the end of the day... I would of told them what the car is honestly worth. As I am sure you did...right? What was their reaction to reality and what made them think it was worth $200k?

The owner of that 1973 Green Imp I was chasing for 2 years was firm at $30k the very first time that I talked to him. He had it on EBay twice and I was the highest bidder both times....not even half of $30k. As far as I know he hasn't sold it. I don't even know if he is still alive. He was in his mid-80's.

I would drop one of my business cards down a defroster vent, throw half a dozen into the glove compartment, and hand them each personally one. Tell them it's a 1 of not many, thank them, and walk away. But not until you ask to make a pencil and paper rub of the data plate. Makes one look like he knows something about the car. They'll start arguing tomorrow.

Did I miss the thread on this one? There had to be one.

I have 60 photos of the car and the tags . believe me, it was discussed long after we left. She knows when it comes down to 1 percent of the asking price to call me.

This one was discussed during Carlisle.... But a different ad

You value this one at $2000 and that clapped out 69 T&C at $2800?

No.... I would value this car more. It needs a top and engine work but the body is SOLID...SOLID...SOLID. It may be worth 5 because of the lack of rust, plyable vinyl on the seats and dent free.

The wagon I don't value at 2800.... I clearly stated that

Does it need a lot of parts replaced because of dry rot because it sat for so many years?
