1957-58 Plymouth build

It doesn't look like I can send pics in a private message, so I'll post them here if that's alright. I got to looking at my parts car, and besides the ribbed trim and drip rail trim, it looks like there's some more stainless on the outside of the rubber window channel (see 1st pic).

Pic #1: Parts car showing 3 pieces of stainless
Pic #2: Nick on ribbed trim
Pic #3: Drip rail/rain gutter trim
Pic #4: Bend on drip rail trim
Pic #5: Ribbed trim

Thanks Patrick, the trims arrived today and they are fantastic. Blown away by the help and support of member of this page like yourself that I have received over the last few years.

Trims welded back together and installed

Fitted a new sender unit to the tank and a new filler tube grommet and o-ring. That seems to have fixed the leak and also got the guage working. Also made up an overflow tank for the radiator to deal with our hot days here.

Amazing work. Would love to cruise one of those babies in my lifetime !

Repairing a stone guard for the Plymouth today. Bit of a trial fit tonight. Still need to sand out some of the deep stone scratches tomorrow.
Still needing to find a left hand side one yet.

Managed to track down the stone guard for the other side a few weeks ago. Just waiting for it to arrive. Also added a couple of 2 inch lowering blocks to see what it looks like. I will get around to getting the springs reset a bit flatter down the track. They are springs I made up out of a few sets of cbody ones I had lying around.

other side stone guard arrived this week. Managed to get a little time to fix and polish it up. Gave the car a run around town today to blow out the cobwebs.

Got the 58 out for a run on the weekend. Replaced the repo grille V with a genuine one. Also added a genuine 57 Fury to the collection. Very rusty but numbers matching car with most of the hard to find bits still on the car.

Have been spending a little time driving the 58 over the last few months. Starting to gather bits for a 440 transplant in the new year.

I’ve said it a hundred times about this and the pace car but man, you do some outstanding work. Sometimes I look at your threads just to get amped up. I don’t know if I’ll ever get as deep on a resto but, it’s heartening to see how a deep dive can turn out so well esp after seeing ad after ad for cars that were taken down to do what you do but didn’t make it across the line. And on a forward look car no less. Thanks for continuing to share your progress.

Thanks mate, I appreciate your kind words

Been nearly a year since my last post. Dusted off the 58 and took it along with my 65 pace car to the Chrysler Expo on the weekend. Have not really drove it much over the last year with life getting in the way.
