Great job so far!

I love seeing this type of serious metal work being done on a C body.

Some years ago I was looking through my "Standard Catalog of Chrysler" book and happened to glace at 1964 production numbers, and was quite surprised at how few New Yorker coupes were built that year. It's really great that you are bringing one of the few back to life. I don't think I've ever seen one in person, and I doubt that there would be more than 25 of them left at this point.

Thanks Jeff - I appreciate you taking the time to post that. It's a labor of love. And now that the floor, sills and quarters are done, I can move onto some fun stuff like this. The next goal is to ge the subframe and running gear back under her.

I was thinking I had seen a red 2dr like this before. Searched my ebay files and found it.
@commando1 posted a link to one also. It was the same car as I have in my files.
The VIN on it is VERY close to yours, I actually had to check 2-3 times to make sure I wasn't misreading. From -386 to -632.
It is red with white leather, but has buckets and console.
So your car's twin is out there somewhere.

Thought I'd share this. I had some scans done of a Canadian 1964 Chrysler catalog I picked up at a swap meet last year. Featured on the cover the Canada-only 1964 Chrysler New Yorker 2-door. The idea is that I'll photoshop the color to the red of my 2-door and do a framed print for my car wall of fame in the Batcave.

Ya, I've heard that 300 figure too. Interesting that it was the lowest price model (by a fair margin too). But that must be base price - I imagine you could load them up. Hard to believe a leather interior car going at that price. I have a theory that I haven't been able to disprove yet. That they were all (or at least mostly) that "Sumac" red color with a black half vinyl top. I've seen one black one and and one fire engine red one and the fire engine red one was Sumac red in the jams. The black one looked like it could be a respray as I haven't seen it close up.

Good post and yes, this is in the back of my head. For now I’m staying drum at all four corners. I have a look I have in mind and it’s 14” with a tall skinny bias-ply (8.25/8.5”) with a 1” white stripe. I did put a dual master cylinder for safety. It’s an original-look I want to start with - then if I get bored of that I might look at 15” and front disc brakes.
