1965 Chrysler New Yorker

He won't have money left for a car after a trip with this duck.

Oik, in my first post I asked about the price on the car. If the car is as nice and original as the owner os stating what is a fair price..high and low.

I can certainly understand that. Take the max you are able or willing to pay for the car under ideal circumstances, then start a little low and negotiate. Hopefully, you can meet in the middle andboth be happy. Don't be afraid to walk away if you can't come to an agreement (there are others out there), but also don't let a fifty or hundred dollar disagreement keep you from a fabulous car if it is within your means (I have done that before and regretted it afterward).

I made him an offer based on the photos but in the end it will come down to my inspection. Wish there was a member that lived in that area for a second set of eyes. My offer was under 6.

Well looks like we are both in the same ball park as far as value based on the pictures. I traveled a little over 200 miles to look at mine. We were 5500 apart on price and still negotiating on the phone while I was driving there. We were so far apart that I wouldn't have even driven there, but the seller had the car for sale for a long time, and from talking to him on the phone a couple times, it sounded like he was ready to seriously negotiate if someone actually showed up with cash and sat on the porch step a while. It worked out for me. I ended up getting the car for 500 over my initial offer and 5000 below what he had listed the car for.

He started off at $7600.00 and by the time we were done I had him down to $5,800.00, tried to get him to throw in a AM/FM radio that he had picked up for the car but it was a no go. Once I drive up to look at it maybe I can get in down to $5,600.00 and get the radio.:yaayy:

According to Groucho Marx' memoirs there used to be a union for men in bearsuits in the days the Marx brothers were playing in theaters.
