Thought the exact same thing. He had that car for sale for years.

He didn't love the car, he loved $$$$

Hopefully the OP will keep preserving the car in the wait ahead.
My point was he persisted while suffering the slings and arrows of the naysayers (I was to a large degree) and he sold it to a person who will do right by the car. Hopefully you will too

I Have a customer who claims to have a 65 Monaco convert factory 413 4 speed....never seen it though and it sounds rough.

If I remember correctly that could be possible. The 4 speed was available with the 413 in Canada but not the US. It was automatic only here. Plus it has a Fury dash. And a Monaco vert was also only available in Canada and not the states.

No offense to those over seas, I would rather see it stay in the states. However, if someone has the means to purchase it AND ship it, more than likely they have the means to also restore it. In the end, that is what I want to see for the car.

Don't worry.
I am pretty sure no european will step up to buy it.
Way too rough conditionwise.

Only scandinavians pic up those jobs. But not for slabs, they do it for Forwardlookers.

The car needs some preservation right now, not restoration. It looks like it has had some crappy living conditions over it's lifetime. Is it being stored indoors? Does it run?

It's a very significant car in the world of 4 speed mopar. I know an aficionado of these cars - how about a 4sp convertible...? We have discussed this car but he does not do internet.

Imagine an alum head stroker six pak with a passon 5 speed hiding under the current outward appearance...

I saw one on a used car lot in Regina Saskatchewan around 1980.

There was a hard top one in Weyburn SK that the original owner couldn't keep a clutch in so the dealer made him a deal on a triple black loaded 66 Monaco with a 440 auto. The new owner of the 65 apparently found the only tree in South East Sask to wrap it around on the way home from the dealer. As far as I know the 66 is still there.

A friend of mine in Prescott Ontario had one new.
Legend has it he beat Don Nicholson's Thunderbolt at Deseronto with it in a B/Stock A/FX handicap race after they had won their respective classes. Legend also has it that it might have been slightly improved from stock but not in an obvious way.

Why would you even consider doing that to a car with so much rarity. You could do that to a base Monaco or any other car with much higher production numbers. I can't guarantee what would happen to the car if it sells, but if someone told me that is what they would do to it.....I'd tell them "F" off even if offered double the price.

After having my old '65 Monaco for 25 years I wanted to see it be appreciated and taken care of for the next care taker. After speaking with Dan I knew I had no worries. I know he will and has improved the car but I also know he respects it. I could not have asked for a better person to buy my 'ol girl. Thanks Dan!

If I like a car it does not really matter to me what the final value is, most don't feel the same. If any one buys this car they will be ahead of the game on the "parts" hunt.
I have a sweet 65' parts car to pair with Yours. I really do wish I was able to purchase Yours, it is My Dream Ride

:stop:

Should we be expecting a change to the prefix of this thread? Or did I read too much into these two statements?

Jon had two 65 Monacos. Both the same color.
One found it’s way back to the “D” where it began.

More than likely you could sell the parts car. I more than likely have enough parts that go with mine that there would not be much you would need. Start saving, lol!
