If I had a little more passion for that car... and a stack of $$... I'd be bugging you. I might not meet your price, but I would at least be working on letting you know I had desire.
Sorry, I don't mean to be educating the masses on how to negotiate or appeal to the seller who wants the car saved... and I'm not really qualified to do so anyhow. I do see the value in what you have offered. I'm really hopeful that this thread will stir the enthusiasts to the surface so you at least have a short list of applicants for the continuation of this car.
I am sorry to say, it doesn't appear that any are FCBO regulars. No biggie, in a few years some newbie will show up and post "Is the car still for sale?" so I see value in putting the word out there.
I'd like to see this one get driven too.
If you wait long enough, eventually you can sell most anything. To be honest I think that's more than the market will bear for such a car. On the other hand, if I were looking for one, it might be worth it to me to pay that price and do a resto rather than spend a lot of money and time looking for one that's less expensive, and maybe coming up blank. Of course, the way to find a super deal on a better car is to pay a lot for one that needs a ton of work... the bargain of the world will show up in a month or two.
The OP is on the opposite end of the scale from me... I had a 70 Sport Fury with only a bit of rust in an a pillar and around the back window, otherwise virtually no rust anywhere, had a very built 440 and racing torqueflite and a ton of parts including brand new in the box Hooker competition series ceramic coated headers, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, brand new set of Chysler road wheels, and on and on. I needed it gone and let the whole works go for a fraction of what the OP is asking for his '66.

You know none of us can predict the future. Personally I hope John plays the lottery tonight and wins big, then has the car trailered to Mark Worman at Graveyard cars, he does a full restoration on it while filming it for the show, and then Chrysler buys the car from him and puts it on display while all of you eat your hearts out.I think I'll wait for the estate sale. . .

The "R" in the beginning stands for rare. As you can see from this price guide the car would be pushing $50,000 restored. So, who's price guide do you go by now. I'll use this one.....nearly $20K more than Hagerty.
