Hi. Still working on my 1965 NYer wagon and progress is slow but positive. I have the seats out now and thinking of doing the cracks in the dash....which are not too bad. I think I read that you have to pull the windshield to get dash out. Is that true? Has anyone used this dash putty? I would prefer not to pull windshield. You do not have to pull the windshield to get the pad out on a 65/66 Chrysler. You may need to leave a blood offering to the gods of sharp metal, but I've done it. Only roughly 6 - 8 nuts, but they are a pain to get to.

Where are the nuts? Can you send photos of locations? Would like to have my dash removed/repaired.

A factory service manual will show where every screw or clip is located. I just replaced the pad on my Monaco last year while I was swapping the radio out. Removal of the gauge bezels and glove box liner was a big help accessing the pad screws underneath.

Here is a pic of 65 dash pad.
It is dark red and uncracked F/S for ONLY $100+shipping if somebody is interested?

I checked my manual. The nuts for removal of a dash are not shown. There is a lot of information on how to remove a clock and a radio, but not a dash.

Yup, as he says, check his photos of the dash pad he had for sale.

The information is located in section 23, page 55 of section 23 of the factory service manual, second paragraph. Note that we're talking about the Factory Service Manual, and a Haynes manual may leave that out...

Turns out I do not have that manual. My manual is called Chrysler Imperial 1965 Service Technical Manual. Section 23 in this manual does not have any diagrams of Body and Trim - Interior Trim.

Actually, I checked again! My manual has that diagram information on page 17.

I removed the dashpad on a 65 Chrysler in a junkard years ago, did not remove the winsield. Perhaps six nuts on the underside, plus removing some parts in the way. Have lots of bandaids ready.
I see intact dash pards for 65/66 on Ebay periodicaly, do a saved search and you may get lucky.
