Cleaned the welds up.

Made a start on a replacement piece for the lower corner.

It's a triple compound shape.

Getting there though. These shall not be lead. They shall be steel. Much easier to fix when it rusts through again.

Slightly off topic- are these the correct door handles for a 66 Fury?

I have one handle missing the button and mechanism, but an not sure if it's original to the car.

There's another style, just looks to be cosmetically different:
MA1097 - 1963-66 Dart, Valiant, Barracuda; Outer Door Handle Set; with Push Buttons; RH and LH

Which is the right set? From the pictures I see, the top ones, but the listing says the lower ones. (Not that I trust the listing, mind...)

Persuaded the rest of the screws along the top to undo, most of which were just rusted blobs of metal and needed hammer and chisel to unscrew.

Cleaned the top of the channel. It's rusted in the stupidest places, like in the middle at the top. Guess the trim rubbed through the paint.

Philip, so glad you are back! Hoping your wife is doing well and that you have a wonderful Christmas!
The classic industries handles look like those on my '66 Fury. Lindsay

Toom a moment to trim the rust back to good metal on the pillar and inset.

Patched in the rust hole in the inner curve. Next up will be that square above it then the gasket lip.

After that, I can rebuild the pillar and outer skin.

Then, that's that corner done.
