1967 Plymouth Fury 3 Hardtop

Ok so I felt a little froggy today and decided it was time to put my edlbrock manual choke lever in. Looking for a nice place to put it with out a stupid bracket or drilling a hole in my dash, the cigarette lighter kinda lended itself to occasion. Here's a couple pics of the process.

There's 4 Phillips head screws that hold the tray on. Take those off, and push the rear of the tray up. You'll need to turn it also. It will fight a little bit to come out.

Ya ever do something once and it goes great, then have to do it again due some short sightedness . Yea me too. The first time I put the choke cable through the firewall it was like it was meant to be. Now that I've removed the ashtray and pulled the cable back through the firewall because the ashtray bracket and choke cable are now one, its fighting me at every turn, literally!!! The bends aren't so severe that the inner cable should have any trouble but noooo! Nothing but 4 letter words coming to mind!!:BangHead:

Good news is I got the flasher switch replaced! Thanks again 68plymouth. I was hesitant to force it out but it worked!

Here she sits all tore apart ,wants to run but only farts, daddies giving her a 413, all bright and orange and super clean, with a brand new carb and a 6AL she'll run them down like a boat outta hell, hope you're in a bit of a hurry cuz we'll get there fast in my Plymouth Fury!!

So scratching my head on where to put the triple gauges. I came up with a solution. I had a busted radio for it and I'm not using the factory radio and again the space lended itself to me for the gauges. I'm gonna paint the radio plate black and leave the gauge mount chrome .Here's where I'm at so far in this most uninteresting build.

You are cutting the dash?
Not at all. I cut a slot in a factory radio mounting plate that the gauge brackets 90 degree bend slides into. Then cut the center of radio mounting plate out to accommodate the gauges. The whole reason I came up with this is because I didn't want drill into the dash for gauge bracket.

Here's a ruff draft. Everything is just sitting in thee,no screws yet. I've still got to run all the wires for the gauges and tach.

the P.O. of my car put the gauges there too, they fit well. but homeboy rounded out spots for them to sit,, right into the P L Y M O U T H lettering.
sigh.

but they do go well right there. I mounted mine under the dash and they are too low to see.
sigh more.

As hard as those bezels are to find I couldn't modify it. The dash bezel pushes on the bottom of the gauges slightly , but it's nothing I can't live with.

Welcome to my nightmare! I love having multiple projects going on in the same car. I was hoping to get the oil pan painted and on today but with the humidity at 996 percent I figured I'd get some wiring done!
