1967 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible project

This really has been an awesome thread. You have taken the time not only to do the wonderful work you have been doing but to also document it and share it with us! Thank you so much and keep up the killer work! I look very forward to seeing the baby done!
 
Look what the mailman brought in...

Some final detailing for the dash:


I managed to demolish the circuit breaker for the convertible roof pump, so I needed to get a new one. The eBay pictures looked like it would be quite close, but the size was actually pretty different. Nothing that a clue cannot fix. Well, not OEM, but close enough... :)

I got carried away with the phosphoric acid... The horns were in pretty rusty shape:





I did not notice that the other side of the horn is plastic and ended up like this:

Got it... well, originally the car was supposed to be ready 2 years ago, so it
has not been proceeding too fast :) But from now on it will...
 
I have been mainly spending all my time in the garage, but here is an update.

This was in pretty bad shape, I could not find any good replacement part.
So I decided to use some farming equipment...





And the place where it goes:




New splash guards by Detroit Muscle Technologies in their place:



Finally got the gas line and all the brake lines done today:






Got the hood also mounted today:


Next thing is to bleed the brakes and figure out how to
install the deck lid hinges back, I did not take them
away myself so I don't have any idea how they should
be mounted :BangHead:

Where do you get that and what is it called so I know where to look for it.

It is so called "dust pipe", made for dust extraction like sawdust or for hay.
I got it from local hardware store. It is plastic and round, but can
be shaped to oval because the copper thread that goes inside the plastic.
 
Updates again...

Some setbacks occurred when i got all the fluids in and tried to start the engine. First the battery had died and it was easter holiday and nothing was opened.

Seems that the fuel pump has died after a few years of dry season... ...new one ordered from rockauto.

Then the start relay did not seem to work. I got the engine running with starter spray and with extra power from other car.

There was not anything wrong with the new starter relay but with my wiring. The wiring harness has 2 exactly same looking brown wires, the other one goes to windshield washer pump and the other from tranny to starter relay...

Next thing to hit me was the green fluid in the car floor coming from heater box. I double checked the hose connections, but it was clear it came from the brand new heater core. Got the box out:





And found the guilty one, this tube was loosen and caused the leak:








Anyway, the car is ready to go back to the painter...
