1969 CHP Polara Wagon

Really like to see the engine shot, I hope you can score the negatives.

Here are the engine shots, I was told last night that this is a 440 but not the 375 HP.

This car is also unique in that it has the electronic siren not just the mechanical one. These were just being tested at that time.
The speaker on the wheel liner is the clue.

Came with A/C. Stan would have ordered this if he were a police officer back then.

Here is the tag to a car that was scrapped out...
DK41L9D239726.jpg

Because it might be a little to hard to read...
E86: 440 CID 4 barrel V8 (High Performance) 375hp
D32: Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission
B41: Front Disc Brakes w/Standard 10in RR Drum
F15: 65 Amp Alternator
H51: Air Conditioning with Heater
V02: Two Tone Paint Treatment
Y39: Special Order
Not listed, rear air

This was the way ALL the 1969 sedans were ordered, it was the first year for all the cars to have AC.
The 99 special order paint was actually the standard Dodge black but a special order white.
CHP had disc brakes on all cars for several years already, probably as soon as Dodge started offering them.

I was in the top 98% of the Massachussetts State Police entrance exam and physical and about to enter The Academy when a Boston judge ruled blacks had to be admitted over whites...
No cop car for da white boy....

This happened back in 1971.
Nothing's changed.
They still act as if they are still "the oppressed" people.
My ***........
50 years of Affirmative Action and they are still sucking off the government teat.

In 1976, there was 3 of us standing in the hallway waiting to appear before the promotion board, a white guy, a black guy, and me. There was 2 promotion slots open. We could here them talking inside the promotion board...the damn door wasn't closed all the way. One of them said to the others on the board......"there's 2 each 63C slots open for promotion......one of them has to be black". Guess which one of us standing in the hallway was smiling. That individual was so qualified he could barely tell you which end of the barrel the bullet came out! I was shocked that he was even considered for promotion!

I don't believe it was possible to package the 375hp 440 into the wagon bodyshell. I vaguely recall it had something to do with the exhaust system.

I tried to buy a 69 Fury wagon, former Florida Highway Patrol car from a older fellow who is deceased now.It had the 140 Certified speedometer, a 440 with AVS, and nearly had him ready to sell when he died. His kids sold the property to neighbors who wanted all that "trash" gone.

Now that's just plain ridiculous. That's like saying all white people are in the KKK or all Italians are mafioso, Japanese are Kamikaze, or blah, blah blah. You get the gist.

Great photo's, what are the odds that somebody would take pictures back in the day and they're still around 40+ years later. Is that an extra ground wire attached to the A/C unit?

Yes, that was a CHP addition to help prevent radio noise, some cars the even put ground straps on the hood.

Gary, you really hate it when a particular group are painted with a broad, derogatory, brush, don't you....
