This second, he sent me an email in which he told me that he just accept cash...

Now, I have to find a way to pay the man by Cash. Maybe, the 'pick up companies' offering this.
QUOTE]
There must be a member here that could accept your cash and go take a good look at the car before handing it over.......

ANYONE NEAR PHILLY...... maybe a free lunch.....

That means he doesn't have a bank account? A wire is just as good as cash especially when you're talking small amount like this....

That would be great! And a free lunch is guaranteed. ;)

I'll check out if the pick up companies offer a service like that, but if someone here lives near Collegeville, PA, that could be a great emergency plan.

No offense to our foreign friends but if I was selling a car to an overseas buyer, I would insist on cash. If cash was the deal breaker so be it. It's a jungle out there.
I see my pal Lance have to deal with foreign buyers and it's not worth it. Most times it's not the buyer but local agents totally screwing up the deal.

"Hi. I'm supposed to pick up a car?"
"WhoTF are you?"
"Well I got a call from a broker who said to pick up a car here"
"Nobody told me. You've got the money?"
"What money?"

vdk2010 - I'd venture to guess that trust goes both ways. Apparently he is very wary of potential scammers, and someone calling from Germany might make him nervous, especially if he is not familiar with wire transfers. Your best advise is above, find someone to handle the cash transaction for you. Best of luck to you!

I understand the warries of a seller if he is not familiar with digital payment. In Germany, it's normal to pay everythink by wire transaction. Now, i know that there are a lot of defferences between out countries!

I will contact some companies tomorrow to ask if they offer a cash payment service. If this is the normal way in America, they should offer it. I will see.

Thank you all for your gorgeous help!

Julian, the biggest problem is that everyone in the US is constantly alerted to the "foreign wire transfer scam" and we all know that our lives will be ruined forever if we give out our bank account number to a foreigner!

It's easy, he agrees to sell you the car, waits for the transfer to post in his account, he goes and withdrawals the cash and the car is yours...no need for paranoia. If he's truly that worried about a scam he could just go to his bank branch and have them set up the transfer for him to help insure its on the up and up.

Or just old school. As Will said, maybe a member here can help. I don't have any Philly trips planned though for at least the rest of this lifetime.....

Of course. So it looks like we have one going to our new friend soon then. :eek:ccasion14:

Ok. I assigned a shipping company and their Agent will contact the seller. They offer a Pay on Pickup Service with a cash check. I hope the seller will accept that.

The guy on the Hotline told me no one will give a trucker thousands of dollars to pay all the cars he pick up by cash. That makes sense.

It does make sense but that doesn't meen that the guy in Philly is going to be happy about it. I hope it goes off without a hitch for you.

I hope everything works out as planned. I don't want to think about the ohter option :O
