Because a car like this will get used up by Michael. The parts will be used and are needed because of the lack of reproduction metal and Trim parts.
The "other" guys by a car on the cheap, regardless of condition steal it's heart and usually discard the carcass without regard to the beast or its heritage. All the while knowing they can buy a block, running engine or a nice shiny new crate engine.
Many times the carcass is discarded and in the ad " only needs an engine and transmission" ok then.... why not leave that numbers matching car intact and buy that same engine and transmission the same place the future owner of this C body would have?

Besides , you're an observant guy, you know how long this car has been available

Nah, doesn't cut it with me. I can't abide cutting up a perfectly good car for another. If it had it's rear end smashed in and all else was fine then I would be fine with it but this car has no physical damage. If it were in Northern California then I would have no doubt already bought it as I have no issues with 4dr hardtops and like the 69 model year.

In fact, and pardon me, but I have less issues with an engine being taken and the rest put up for sale. One can always find a 383 or 440 laying around. Besides numbers matching means little to me.

I agree completly.

There is no reason to cut up any old C-Body for parts.
There are enough parts cars out there at all the classic car salvage yards (ie Murray park etcetc).
Finally a lot of sheetmetalparts can be reproduced if you have a knowledgeable bodyman.
There are enough sources out there, the resources left have to be used with sense and no running&driving cars need to be cut up

There's plenty of reasons too many parts aren't that available as you suggest but you're entitled

Glad to see this car is going to see road time again - it deserves that! well done that man!!:yaayy:

Sealed the deal tonight ya'll!

I sold the 383 drivetrain to a guy on b-bodies-only for his 72 Scamp; he's building a Pro-Street car. The rear axle went to a street rodder building a 350 Chevy powered T-bucket - but he loves Mopar posi-tracks - go figure! Body panels are available, PM me for requests.

Alcon - (all concerned; military term)

1991 - I was stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. My wife and I agreed to rent out our basement to a single airman that was in my unit. I was 26, he was 21. I was a life long Mopar lover, and I influenced him into Mopar when a car came up for sale in our neighborhood that I wanted - but couldn't afford at the time. I convinced him to buy it so that in essence, I had access to it. That car was a 383, 69 Polara, 4-door hardtop. White car, Utah winters, salt, leaking wiper arm seals, no garage, marriage, kids, life, etc. - it all got in the way and his Polara took hit after hit in deteriorating. I've always wanted to have my own 383, 69 Polara 4-door hardtop so I've kept looking all these years and waiting. Finally, this week - the right car surfaced thanks to a member here. My selfish, inner me knew my Polara Lottery just hit - but in the same exact moment, my heart knew that I had to secure this car for my friend, my best friend, and my EOD brother. So I made the call and committed to buy the car that night. The next morning, I called my buddy and told him the story of finding this car - and although I wanted it, he came first. Talks ensued with his wife, and despite his own financial situation, he accepted my find - and bought it. He is still in Ogden, Utah so he is only 9 hours away from the car. He will be keeping it just as stock as it is, cleaning it up, tuning it up and driving it. After 24 years of passion for 69 4-door hardtop Polara's, I assure you ALL - this car will NOT be parted, stripped, cut, salvaged, or sold. A lover of C-bodies and Imperials, I too find it unacceptable to rape a C-body of its drivetrain for another model. I promote the health and well being of intact C-bodies! Thanks to the OP for posting this ad - thanks to those of you that have commented, and sorry to those of you hoping that this car would be parted out.

Here is his current 69 Polara:

Nice. Glad to see it's gonna stay as is and in tact. Fooled us there for a second. Now...drive it!

Glad I clicked on this thread again to hear the rest of the story, really cool the car will be loved again.

What a great story and glad she has stayed with a Mopar guy who will keep her running etc. Cheers Steve
