If you weren't the guy taking it apart, putting itback together becomes 10x harder.
Sometimes, it don't even matter, if you weren't there when the thing came apart.. in my quest to find out why my PS turn signal don't work, I took apart the tilt/tele column on my 69 Imperial to inspect the "turn switch", and the lock ring that holds the thick spring in place, seems to need a (very) special tool, to get back in place.. even the shop manual, shows a different assembly, than whats on my Imp. When I decided to re-assemble, it took me at least 30 min to figure out which screws and whatnot's went where, and when I finally did, it was painfully obvious that my fingers were not strong enough to hold down the spring, and slide the lock ring into place..! Seems like I now gotta "call a friend" !
 
That is a ***** of a spring and it definitely requires another set of hands.
