1969 Imperial progress thread

Great idea, that was very thoughtful of him. Is he a car guy too, Julian?

Yeah, I was very happy about it! Nice idea :)

He was, back in his young days, but not any more.

I asked him if we want to make a father son project out of the Imperial, but he said I should do the work and he would enjoy the resaults ;)

That's something I could here my dad say back in the day.

So in essence that was a "YES" !!!!! :eek:s_dancing2:

He know a lot about cars and I'm sure he will have some good advises for me in the future!

I took a brake at work for 10 minutes to watch the ships landing in Antwerp, Belgium. First Stop in Europe.

Pretty interesting.

My dad made me a gift last night. He has taken my FSM last week without I've noticed it.

Gave it back to me, saying: May it keep for a long time in your shop!

The book has been re-bound.

That's a nice gift.

I'm wishing I had bought a used manual rather than digital. The images seem to be much clearer in the original. Having said that, it's nice to be able to have it loaded on multiple computers and have access to it in different places.

I might have to buy another one so I have both.

I bought both. The digital version just becasue of the full-text search. That's a nice feature if you can't find something.

* I have my digital version in my Dropbox to have access from every computer!

Hm... The ship has passed by Rotterdam.
:soapbox:

Either I have the wrong ship or it stops in Rotterdam on the way back...

*sigh*

I bet it's a scheduled stop and not unusual to either unload containers in two different ports or start filling the ship back up with non American made goods for its return trip.

Probably..! But in my world it doesn't make sense to ship by instead of stop in Rotterdam and unload first to have more room for new containers.

But I'm not a logician. :dontknow:

Oh, you're saying it didn't stop in Rotterdam! I didn't catch that, sorry. I'm sure all is well though Julian. You know what they say about a watched pot never boiling.....

No it didn't stop in rotterdam :( The blue line is the routh the ship took. The red point is Rotterdam. It went from Antwerp directly to Bremerhaven.

Bremerhaven is indeed closer, but in Rotterdam, I have to pay 20% less fees.

True, true. I didn't know this saying! ;)

Because in Germany, you have to pay 10% customs payments and 19% Import sales tax.
In the Netherlands, they are special classic car regulations. No customs payments and just 6% Import sales tax for cars that are older then 30 years.

So I can save 23% in Rotterdam!

That's substantial!!!
that's where you thought or arranged for it to be delivered, right?

I'm sure it will stop on way back as, probably have more containers coming off or going on in Bremerhaven less restacking which cost$
