1969 Imperial progress thread

It will get there, and at least you can and are tracking it with precision updates :sixpack:

That's substantial!!!
that's where you thought or arranged for it to be delivered, right?

No no, I'll pick it up inRotterdam by myself! I will post some pics of me and Jacky when we meet the first time. ;)

I've just checked the routes and Rotterdam is even closer then Bremerhaven ;)
It's a ~4 hour drive to Rotterdam and a ~5 hour drive to Bremerhaven. Didn't know that until now, but because of the 23% less fees and taxes, this question never came up.

I'm sure it will stop on way back as, probably have more containers coming off or going on in Bremerhaven less restacking which cost$

Me either ;) Too expensive to ship it back ;)

If I ever get my wife on a plane, this area is one of my bucket list destinations. Amsterdam, Hamburg and Brussel all within a 5 hour drive.

Driving in europe is exhausting! Don't underwstimate driving in Europe! It's completely defferent from driving in the US! These are great destinations but you need tim to travel between them!

I just read all 35 pages and that's great Julian. The ole bird is almost home. I did however read something around page 7 that bothered me and I need to get off my chest. Polara71 made a couple comments about a 5 dollar plastic shovel leaning up against the front fender. It was -10 that morning and I was doing what I always did after a snow storm. Cleaning around the car so if a transporter showed they could get to it with no problems. I in no way had any intention on damaging Julian's car. I went above and beyond to make sure Julian's car got to him and was safe. I took all four tires off and took them to a tire shop and had different ones put on so for transport they would hold air. All on crutches because I had just had knee surgery. I climbed under the car in over a foot of snow with a breaker bar because he wanted to make sure the motor turned over. I took pictures and and when the whole mover deal fell through I was the one who opened up the phone book and found a mover who wouldn't charge a arm and a leg. People are awful quick to judge these days. I am about the most honest guy you would ever meet and I would do anything for anyone. Hope you enjoy your car Julian.

Thanks Dan! I appreciate all your help, as you know! You helped me alot to get my car ready for transport and answered all my questions day after day!

It's very close, I can almost smell it ;) Hm, smells like 32 years of barn, rats and mold :O But not much longer!

Oh it stinks, lol. When people see the pics they will c a rough outside and inside but I will tell you. I have had a pile of old cars and other then those two spots on the quarters that body is perfectly staight. I have never see a body and chrome that straight. It's a perfect resto candidate.

No. You're smelling the money it's burning up already. Welcome to the club :D

*already is the word of the day ;) And it burns money already, that's for sure. I already payed a lot money for the transportation. I already bought a lot of new tools because of the metric system. Also I also bought a lot of spare parts already. And I've rented a warehouse already to give it a good, dry home where I can work on it. And I'm sure I forgot a lot of things I spend money for, already.

My hat is off to you Dano, you have my utmost respect! Sincerely!

I'm glad this is so and I hope I'll not find much more hidden spots when I disassemble the whole car! We will see. And the bad smell can be washed out!

Any time my friends. Thank you detmatt and the same to you.
