I guess you wanted us to paint you a picture of how great and wonderful it is to be selling the back half of what used to be a Chrysler 300 hurst... Yes it's vin'd as a 300 hurst, yes it has the trunk lid for the 300 hurst... I think you ether bought the shell to rebuild, and realized it was to much work, and cost involved. Or you bought it thinking it was very valuable. Ether way it's hard to see more than 1,500 for what's left with or without title. There's guys here that are genuine c body people this is what we do. Had you joined and said hey guys i have this 70 300 hurst back half im rebuilding we would have rolled out the Welcome mat and given you advice on what you need. Because your selling we're giving you advise on what it's worth. You can have 100 Craigslist people come by and offer you 1,000 bucks for it, and turn em all away. We're being realistic. Good luck with the sale.

Boy I hav to say you all have no lifes to be able to bash almost every thread on here. I was hoping to join and get real info from true mopar people, but it seems the real people with the love for the cars themselves have died and a bunch of thread smashing old fogies have taken there place. its a sad world. the car is what it is and I will find a buyer who will love it and build it into something awesome who gives a flying f$%^ about the engine and trans. get a hurt hood and drop a hemi 4 speed in it. if it isn't going to be all original were you have to have every nut and bolt correct than have some fun build it the way you want and drive it. I went through all the **** of getting the title in my name so someone could build it without worry of the tired old no papers game. I will tell you one thing my car will ave one thing that most of yours don't and that's a good rot free foundation. go ahead and drive your tired old c-bodies with no trunks and what not. every car has its flaws and will cost more than its worth to get it perfect, but if you can do it yourself on your own time than it wont.

Just to to be fair to the OP, I think he said this had been stored in his shop since the late 1970's after a wreck. Original owner either died or abandoned the project after many years of deciding what to do with the decent rear clip. Then, the OP, wanting to clear his shop and realizing what it is made an effort to keep this Hurst from being cut up for parts, or stolen by derby dummies, going as far as to getting a title in NJ (no easy task), and preserving the build sheet, etc. He's not a Mopar guy, as he stated, but wanted it to go to a good home. Over priced? To us, definitely, but so is the free coffee at the local deli on Veterans Day, but to someone with a front clip or rusted coup from any 1970 300 or Newport, IMHO, no. The intentions are good, keep it alive and keep it listed, someone will come along.

It seems to me that finding parts for a 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst would be easier when the car is 10 years old in the 80's when the salvage yards were loaded with them, than it would be today 35 years later... yes there still out there. Yes parts can be found... but where have the good usable parts from this car gone? Engine, trans, driveshaft. Interior... If this guy has been the caretaker all these years the least he could do is keep all usable parts with the car. With the original drivetrain, and complete interior not missing anything, and requiring stub frame, and front sheet metal i could see it being a viable project... but those parts are mia.

Am an oldish fogie hope you get what your looking for ,But it's a bit steep for half a car , you may have to wait a while before you sell it for that money .

My Hurst 300 parts car was a complete car that hit a guardrail and kinked the passenger side front fender and door. But with the rust issues it had I did not even THINK of reselling the car, stripped out what was still good, took off the hood and trunk deck and left the carcass. These cars are just WAY WAY too common to commend any money unless they are a done nice car or a survivor. I think he is crazy with his price and being a fellow Hurst owner I can say that. Mine at least still has its front fenders and front stub!

I did steal the 8 3/4 out too so it is sitting on the dirt to let the rust work a little faster!

What other cars are back there?
The blue one is gone it was a coronet 440 model with a 318, the duster is a gold duster 318 as I need it for parts for my FM3 340 duster. It is all junk back there nothing worth saving, kind of like the Hurst!

Do you have any pictures of the Panther pink duster? lol I would love to see that no matter what shape it's in.

I do not as it is tucked away in a barn and I never took any before I buried it in there behind 2 other cars

Dam well whenever you start working on her don't be shy about posting some pictures I Love Panther pink cars only mopar could make a bright pink car look Tough.

This is another one that I wouldn't mind having. The work don't scare me. I would build it. If I had the money I would be trying to work a deal on this one. Its in better shape then my 300 vert.

Sorry...even after all the back and forth, it's still way to much for what is... essentially you're buying a 300 H deck lid. And that's not worth 2500 bucks.

I would buy it but the price is seem so absurd I mean ridiculous. nearly half body with no motor and front end umm ... I would check it out and can offer him less what he want. (if his car still for sale).

ok well for everyone who was with me I thank you for the support and for all you heartless bastards out there who didn't have the decency to keep your **** comments to yourselves rot in hell. The car sold a few days after the last ad in july for the 2500 to a hurst enthusiast outside of Philadelphia. As you can see this is no bs and the car is in a nice home with two others as well as he has 2 more off property. my car being a more solid candidate will get a restoration with donations from a rustyed hurst he has. I am glad to say that this will be the last mopar I save as no one in the mopar world has the manners to know if you don't have anything nice to say then to keep your mouth shut. again to all who were supportive I thank you again. it feel good to know it went to a good home and not the scrap pile.

Glad to see it went to someone who can use it, congrats on the sale. It looks like one thing in the pic doesn't belong.
