1970 Chrysler Imperial Lebaron 4dr HT

Oh what a rancid smell. I have been the surprised owner of two rat toilet cars. A 71 imperial 4 door hard top and the biggest turd I ever bought, a 70 300 convertible. The smell was so bad in the imperial I parted it out. the rat piss rusted the floor pan out in the rear seat area. Such a shame, it was black, nicely optioned and ran well. It just smelled like the zoo from about 4 feet away. i dumped the rag top for a loss and was happy to do so.

There is almost nothing worse, almost. As much as I would hate to take a sale away from this Imperial, it is clearly not stated in the sale... it about knocked me over when I sat in the drivers's seat. I would be pissed... no pun intended.

Maybe vdk wants to buy my 72 Imperial?

Thanks, but my obsession is the '69 model as a coupe. Every part on it is in my opinion the best looking of the fuselage years. :)

Um... guilty as charged. No lie, will never get all my own cars as I would like them to be. Shipping? Have watched cars fall apart on my trailer heading south. $3000 between me and the container for a $1500 car, thats dedication.

I'm on one of this things at this moment... What I have to do to get one of this cars is a little bit nerve-racking. But I'm happy doing it, because of the result.

.

That's ok, you're entitled to your opinion even if you're wrong. The 73 is obviously the best looking Imp.

I like them all, but I like the '69 most.

to each his own :)
Yea, the 69' is super cool, I dig those shark gills on the fenders. Then in 70' they went to full turn signal lamps. I liked that too. I would make right or left hand turns in my 70' and the fixtures would light up there area into the turn. Fantastic.

1970 is the best. No skirts on the rear fenders, clean grill and lines. 71 is fine, too

I agree, no skirts or logo on quarter panels. Clean grill and marker lights... do like 69-73 for different reasons.

That's my favourite part on the '69!

The grill let the car looks flatter and wider, IMO.
On the 72-73, I don't really like the shape of the huge turning lights on the frontend.

well, I like all the fuselage years, each year has its own little distinctions.

I had this same conversation with myself for three days at Carlisle abort four years ago. There were several fuselage Imperials parked side by side behind us.. .... I couldn't make up my mind

I'm with Vdk, I prefer the '69s but like them all.
