The think this car very worth saving, and keeping in the FCBO family.

For my part, I'd rather they didn't dick around with starting it. If they don't know what they are doing, and the gas in it is bad, an intake valve could get varnished, stick open and crash into a piston. Besides, if it isn't running, that makes for a good negotiating point.
Yep, they could screw it up if they don't have a clue, and I definitely agree on using that in negotiations, engine rebuild costs how much?

The Canadian market for C bodies is improving based on what the "Ask" price has been lately but given the current economic outlook there is little "disposable income" floating around that is willing to shell out the money needed to buy them. If it wasn't for guys like @Tobias74 saving these lonely ladies many would end up in forgotten farms/derbies up here I am afraid. We have seen decent survivor cars up here sit for months at mid teens asking price that in other jurisdictions might bring the money they deserve. Unfortunate import/export red tape keeps many of these nice Canadian cars out of the USA but overseas doesn't seem to have that problem. Like Tobi said, trying to restore these cars up here is very expensive with the exchange rate and duties/taxes we get slapped with. The same work down in the USA can be had for much less. A $12000CDN Chrysler 300 up here would take a long time to sell whereas an equivalent $9000USD Chrysler 300 sells fairly quickly down south.

Strange that there was never a Canadian car manufacturer.

Guy told his friends that's what delorean made before the DMC-1 (that's what it's called right?)

Not sure why they think it has electric door locks?

But it does have cruise control and what looks like a power antenna. I have yet to see a vent cable lever that sKewed as in the left one in the photo, and the photo also shows 30K miles, not 35K.

What exactly constitutes "certified funds" - a bank cashiers check I guess?

Doesn't look easy to retrieve from that "barn", but I guess that is why it is on dollys.

Bank cashier's checks, and all related things like Money Orders, can be counterfeit nowadays.
For me, if selling such a car, certified funds could be whatever the buyer wants to use -- but it will be verified by my bank prior to the car leaving my possession. And that includes those $100 bills. If being done during bank business hours, is just a minor delay.

Considering the ancient tires (1 is quite flat on the dolly), and what looks like evidence of a past boilover, I wonder if it has been sitting forever due to an overheat or something.
The paint is still wet and therefore true shine is unknown.
Considering the standing water on the aircleaner lid, it's probably best these people don't get the car running. How much water got dripped down the carb stud and into the engine?

IMO it could be a fabulous car, but has some unknowns to it, and will surely need $2-3000 in wake-up repairs. Definitely a see-in-person car. I wonder if someone arriving with $8000 would get it?
