Digging through photos on a harddrive I forgot I had...I took this picture December 31st 2012....Dave was just getting down to business on his 440+6 GT, this was his reference car, even then I think he and I knew it would end up with me...

I dragged it outside on Sunday and changed some flats....I want to sort my spare stuff out and figure out what I need still.

Wow Nick! Good work!
Wish I had you in the neighborhood. I'd be buying the beverage of your choice and asking for help.

Well, I actually started working on an engine for this car back in late 2020, but the China Virus caused that to slow to a trickle, everything took 5 times as long as it normally did and was twice as expensive, but here we are, 1973 Truck 440, Forged crank engine, it's been tanked, dipped, fluxed, bored 30 over, decked, line bored, new cam bearings, new distributor drive bushing, new frost plugs and new block plugs.

I have been collecting stuff for it and my goal is hopefully to have a 440 that looks like a stock U code 375 horse motor, but I'm hoping to make 400HP.

Why a U code? Simply put, it wasn't available in any '70 Fury other then a PK41, This car was never anything more then a 383-2 Fury III, if I'm building a non-numbers car, I'm going to building something that never existed. But I'm going to do it how I would of wanted.

I will pair it with a 1969 383 HP 727 from a Roadrunner that I have, and I have a Big pinion 489 3.23 Sure-grip.

Dug the heads out for Project "X", Aero Racing prepped 452 heads, skimmed, oversize stainless valves, all the good stuffs, Thanks to my friend Duncan for selling me these about 4-5 years ago, I've been collecting parts to build this 440 for years.

Cool project! I always wanted to convert my Imperial to a 4-speed manual but parts availability (and prices) have put me off. :(

Do you still have your 4-speed stuff?
