I agree, it could be brought back, problem is that the asking price is more than the car would be worth complete and running in #3 condition.
Dave
So what do you think it would be worth?

1500-2500 would be more realistic with its rust...that 73 Polara Cop car on Ebay was mine for a bit. Got 6 grand for it as is minus the stickers and lights. The C body market is rising and people keep shitting on decent cars. I hate it. This attitude is why I am not on here as much as I once was.
Special order tag and the police prefix K on the order code appears to be for the 140 mph speedo, max cool and not much else in the way of a cruiser package.
Rear window channel is rotted so most likely is the trunk floor. I do not think all of that can be fixed for less than probably $20k-$30k, could be more.
Interesting how new ad doesn't have any engine bay pictures showing how rusty it is. Seller must be reading our comments.
I'm putting my "old man" hat on now, so you guys will feel like I'm part of the group. Take this buffet style,...take what you want, leave the rest for someone else.
Contrary to popular belief, this car is quite rare, and is a "Road Runner" of sorts in the C-body world.
Most here are sh!tting on this car and they don't even know what it is.
It seems from comments consistently made on this forum about "values of C-bodies", you guys seem to know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
A car doesn't have to be a GT, a 500, have a "letter", have 2 doors, be rust free, and or B5/B7 blue to be worth saving.
Remember, it's not 1998; $1,000 doesn't get you a whole lot in 2019, unless you are really lucky.
Respectfully Dave, or as the kids say, @Davea Lux, you are quite incorrect.
This car is more than a,
In fact, it's an A38 (first year), 383 Pursuit Package Fury III, 4-door hard top, as the VIN and the VON designates.
383 HP 330
H/D 727
Dual Exhaust
Dual Snorkel free flow air cleaner
High capacity fan w/slip drive
Front Disc brakes with special metallic pads
Pursuit handling package
H/D torsion bars
H/D shock absorbers
H/D rear leaf springs
H/D front sway bar
H/D 15"x6JJ wheels with H78 Fiberglass belted tires
H/D stop lamp
H/D High Density seat foam, w/extra springs
8-3/4" rear axle
Certified Speedometer
Battery Heat shield
60 Amp Alternator
H/D battery
Maximum Cooling package
Special Order code 99 radio (R11 code which is weird)
As for the other options, they are kinda obvious.........
So it's kind of a "muscle luxury" Police Package Fury. To my knowledge, the general public was not entitled to order the A38 package. So this was a fleet or Government (of some kind) special ordered car. That alone makes it cool.
My guess is the FBI, or the Governor of Texas Motor Pool.
It's a rare car, and worth saving. Sure,... most of you may not like the asking price, or you are not be able to do the work on the car, but the car has value, more than most of you think. IF that turns out to be $4.5K remains to be seen. I think there is room for negations and a place for making an offer on a car that is likely not to surface again.
I have no way to actually know, but I've been following MoPar police cars for over 30 years now and have only seen one of these. My guess is there were less than, maybe 25 produced, and I think that is a very liberal guess, based on police cars I have seen/come across/heard of. It is likely just one of a few produced.
(One thing interesting to numbers nerds like me is it's built during what I call "fleet week" which is May. Seems a majority of "fleet" cars were built in May.)
Just my point .02 cents.
Why would the original post have been flagged for removal?
Read a blog somewhere that the scumbag Buy Here/Pay Here dealers are buying bot software to flag the private sales so as to push their own ads into the forefront. Many people local didn't like the ad so POOF!
Small town, maybe they know him and something is fishy.
V02 = two tone paint?
It might be just an asking price and they might take a much lower offer.
“It is what it is” is an expression that gets used a lot. In this case, one is left to wonder, what is it? My point being, when you start out asking $4500 for a car like this you need to take a hour or two and clean it up! You don’t have to detail it out, but, at least get it clean enough that a prospective buyer can see the condition. This one needs a leaf blower or rake taken to it! Pictures are free,so take a bunch of them revealing the good and the bad.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this car was in better shape than it looks but, I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was much worse. Condition means more to me than a maxed out fender tag. The stuff on that tag don’t mean doodley-squat if the things it refers to are ruined.
Just my take
