Reminds me of an Olds Delta 88

Carsten will know why my first association goes to Pontiac :poke:

My first thought was a '72 Pontiac with a '72 Olds grille set.

Most clay mock ups are considerably uglier imo than the finally design.
They seem to be a confluence of many different small detail design studies.
You can see the small details that they used on the finished car but
the whole clay model was never intended to be a complete design.
Often these features were different from side to side like C pillars, trim, body lines etc.

Wish they didn't have to keep those stupid rubber tits!
Thank God we can take them off by now and let the beauty shine through!

Those rubber "blocks" were what got Chrysler some extra time to get the new body design out with real energy absorbing bumpers. One other thing they did was make the cars a bit longer, which allowed the vehicle transport companies to charge more money to transport the cars (as they were charging "by the inch" at that point in time (acccording to one of the books on Chrysler Corp, back then, probably "GUTS" by Lutz?).

Just some thoughts,

Yes, they were a quick fix since the bumper crash test changed annually in those days.
