Nice Imperial....Too bad it's not blue! No way on $14 Grand! Maybe $6500 tops. My guess on the '70-'73 steering wheel being black is the prior years the wheel was color related to the body and interior. Do you think they had a few thousand wheels that where black and where stuck with them? Just a thought.

If they raided the existing '73 and prior steering wheel inventory, the replacement wheels were black (or paint to match), from Chrysler parts. Most probably a Saginaw (GM) column, but NOT exactly like GM used, by observation.

The T&T wheel itself was used on New Yorkers, Newports, Dodge and Plymouth....so there where a lot of them made.

The politically correct title is now certified technician or licensed tech. Get with the times guys!!!!

Ooops my bad, I guess Certified means they are up to snuff with PCM/ECU/OBD II's Flash Reprogramming but know nothing about rebuilding a carburetor, alternator or a starter motor. Right? <ducks>

he he...

This is likely the case these days, no argument here. Even when I was pulling wrenches, the boss(s) were starting to only care about turning out repairs without really concerning themselves with rebuilding in house & this was back in the late 80's early 90's.
