A mostly original Brougham that was a government car in Washington DC, hidden weatherproof switch behind rear license plate that use to open trunk. Black, black vinyl roof, blue cloth interior, garage kept all it's life no rust nicks and dings. Vinyl roof loose at base of rear window, rear passenger window works but needs bushing on shaft, drips trans fluid. Rebuilt thermoquad but needs tuning from not being used enough. Rebuilt Leese-Neville alternator. Replaced plug wires last year original ones included still have undercoat over spray on them, upper radiator hose and tires replaced, other than that I believe everything original. I don't have time to drive or do minor fixes. Asking $5,500View attachment 108864

This sounds a super rare, U code, Formal New Yorker with all the cop goodies. Secret service car...possibly this one?

If I had the coin, it would be mine...no haggling.

I heard of these SS "limos" .. never saw one in person. So yes, that seems like a real good deal for a SS, U-code, Chrylser branded rig like that.

here's another pic of that car .. 120 mph speedo tho. Still could be U-code ..

and then there's this - nothin gets past you folks :). same one DCMC owns?

Never saw one: 75 New Yorker Black/Black sedan

There were some Chrysler-branded (saw pics of a A38, N-code, '75 or '76 Newport once) U-code, pursuit-spec C's in this era ('74 to '76 MY) I'm pretty sure of it ..again I have never laid eyes on one in person.

DCMC, if you get more pics on, hopefully you can get a shot of the ID tags underhood. thanks.

in any event, looks like a nice car .. it would be good if you could find out everything you could about it if you can. Could help you facilitate your sale :)

Formal Chrysler police cars did not get 140 mph speedos. Only Dodge and Plymouth...the clusters are different. The only year for 120 mph non cop Formal Chrysler speedos was 1974. In 75 (and on to 78) the speedos went to 100 mph.

Way back around '96, I re-did a 1977 NYB coupe (wish I had the pics scanned, that was a gorgeous car).

Anyway, for some reason I was in a junkyard and spotted a formal era Newport coupe. I happened to look inside and notice the speedometer was "different" from any I had seen before, and it was not simply because it went to 120 (even back then I knew they changed to 100, but had been 120 earlier). Either it said 140, or "certified", so I grabbed it knowing it was super rare. There must have been a police-spec Chrys formal speedo, because Ply/Dodge looks similar but would not physically fit a Chrysler dash. I even recall that although it fit my NYB dash physically, there edges weren't as they should have been in terms of appearance (since the NYB dash was really the old Imperial dash.) Wasn't there some kind of Newport "enforcer" package that came/went everytime they blundered the line up (thinking '62 and '79 right now, but maybe '75). I also remeber thinking this particular car might have been an undercover unit, I recall it being a white/red interior coupe. Either I don't recall the drivetrain or it was already in a bondo'd Duster project.

Doubt I have any photos, and like an idiot, I sold it with the car.

I'LL post build sheet numbers after my son wake's up, the car has tilt-tele wheel, rim blow horn, an/FM search, all gauges including oil (I remember a discussion on that), vent windows, and a black plug on top of rear passenger quarter panel where Motorola 2 way radio antenna was. I saw on eBay a identical 1970 NY'er that was a Nixon motorcade car. A/C needs some proper care but over all a very presentable car.

More questions answered, 86,000 + miles, 2 build plates, first one stamped "special handling", located in Califon NJ. New seals in p/s pump 2 years ago, paint needs a buffing. Coil over shocks in rear I think this was on build sheet as overload shocks? This past summer I worked 7 days a week, 80 hours a week setting up our new store, have no time as business is going great and I would prefer for someone who has the time to take care of it.

I see from one of the pics that the car is liscened in NJ.. may not be far from me, if anyone is interested I could possibly lay eyes and additional pics on the car, but that would really depend on where in Jersey the car is!! if at all..

Ops.. just saw that DCMC said the car is in Clifton NJ.. about 1/2 from me.. I may take a road trip to check this beauty out..

And yes those are Chrysler emblems on both mirrors, also on all 4 door handles. I seem to remember then in auto part stores back then, or Chrysler did it for as much badging in the motorcade as possible.

75Landyacht that's Califon NJ in Hunter don County by Clinton on rt 78, common mistake. At bottom of build sheet under remarks is;
16 WASH DMCM and yes a U code.

Ops again. Thanks for the clarification.. it's 1 hr 1/2 from me bud the 1/2 hr I previously stated.. could still be willing if someone needs eyes on.. I may go for myself anyways.. it seems like a real Gem..

Just so I'm sure it is a U code where on build sheet do I look? In the vehicle delivery and handling in the upper right corner? The vin is;
CS41T 4C182 547
And it was sold in Newport Vermont at Natole Motor Co Inc. I'm have a hard time loading anything.

Here's a photo of the build plates on radiator support, battery hold down is to the right. Getting this loaded took 10 min.
