2017 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals July 14-16

I did the "fun field" at the Corvette show... It was up on the hill. Climbing that hill in the heat got real old, real fast.

I walk it almost everyday at The Chrysler show and I do it at the Fall and Spring shows... It kicks my *** a little harder every year

I only walk up the hill one time and usually on Friday. I always like to take in the view 360 degrees. I zig zag the rows of cars on the way up. Walking straight up the hill would kick my ***.

Basically, it was a convenient place to park, but I only did it twice and that was 10 years ago. I don't know if Mrs. Big John's scooter would climb it.

So far the heat hasnt really bothered me but im not that old or out of shape yet.
AND Rip, Will is at the top of the list. Even though he sucks more and more everyday, hes not climbing any higher, just putting more space between 1 & 2

I went to the Chrysler show several times in the '90's it rained a portion of every weekend. It usually wasn't so bad to ruin the weekend, or chase us out of the tent. There were two times though that we sought out cover. We ended up sleeping in a pavilion on picnic tables one night and the other we either in or under the grandstands. I don't remember any cars being damaged either time, but of course I didn't have a car on the field either.

Those damaging storms are there and gone before you can get back to your car and put your windows up

The rain I'm not so worried about....it's the brief gusts of wind that will turn anything not secured in to a projectile.

I know guys that did the auto train from Virginia, south to Florida and drove North in the power tour out of Florida. They all said it worked out great

Being in the area yesterday, i watched the loading process in Sanford. I counted 25 double deck auto carrier cars.

A lot of vehicles packed to the roof heading home.

Motorcycles are popular on the train too. Can you say bike week?

This is how they are shipped.
Also priced a roundtrip with one person in a roomette. Leave Fl. on tue. before Carlisle, return mon. It's an overnight trip that gets you to Va. approx. 9:00 am. $1,014 roundtrip inc. vehicle. Can slice about $200 off if you can handle coach overnight.
That leaves a 3 hr drive up to Carlisle.

I could rethink my retirement plans to be near either end.
