You do have a ground wire from the engine to the body, correct?

Yea that would be the rear one from manifold mounting bolt to firewall right?
I've seen many of these assmonkey shows where that was forgotten.

Yea, that one seems to be forgotten, or in really bad shape a lot of times.

If it will not charge with full field the alternator is bad. With a two pole you can check continuity on the rotor by ohming the two poles. On a single you will have to unground that strap for this test. Could be engine ground with new mounts fully insulating it but if it is that insulated I doubt it would start especially on points.
Another thing is make sure those brush/field poles on the back of that Chinese altenator are tight I have had two of those come loose and cause problems.

Had alternator checked again. Tested all good.

Battery checked out all good

Removed all grounds and ensured no paint issues and reinstalled

Tested with both original and new regulator with no difference

At this point I guess I’m at a rewire unless someone has another idea. Any recommendations on aftermarket wiring kits?

Start testing for continuity on all wires in charging circuit...replace as necessary because something is not right...

Stupid question, but do you have power on the battery cable at the back of the alternator? What about at the regulator?
