'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

My 3 days weekend started at 6 PM today, I managed to strip the trunk and one fender before dark, tomorrow will be an early morning and a late night, going to try and cram as much work into this weekend as humanly possible, the count down is on, I have 35 days until the car has to be at my bodymans house.

Still need to hit the panels once more with a fine sandpaper on my grinder.

You're a beast!!!!

Thanks Greg, just trying to make sure I can reach my goal, Idealy I'll take it home for it Birthday (September 8th 1968, it rolled off the assembly line in Windsor Ontario), But if I can't make that, I'd like to have it on the road for my HS Graduation.

Nick

Today I was productive, have a deadline in mind has given me new found patience and perseverance, I got the last patch in the floor and removed the paint from the Rockers, Tailight panel, sail panel and one 1/4 panel.

Keep it up!. You're doing great! The body work is the hardest part and you're on the down slope. Enjoying your posts and progress.

Damn, if I had your preserverance and maturity when I was in high school I'd be president by now. good show!

Nick..........this is the longest running thread on FCBO!!!!
Really Bob? Hmmm that's interesting actually.

Gary, If there's something I want to be, do or have, I'll do what needs done to achieve it.

Here I am 17 years old, I own two vehicles that I bought and Payed for myself, I'm a graduating grade 12 Student who had Honor roll last year and possibly this year, I'm in a accelerated Program with the Provincial Government, and I am currently working on my Apprenticeship while finishing my High school and attending college to get my level 1 Automotive Service technician certification, By the time I graduate, I will have a specialized red seal on my Diploma, I will hopefully have my Plymouth on the Road and be starting my Level 2 Training, My boss has already told me he would like me to stay on permanently (I have worked for him for 2 years part time and through the school.)

To say the least, I'm doing Okay, and as far as Maturity, Most of my friends say I should have been born about 35 years sooner.

Thanks, I appreciate everyone's Comments, they make it easier to keep going.

So today. Got quite a bit done. Only paint left is on the T7 parts car panels I'm using (Doors, hood, Drivers fender), Finished up the last patch in the interior floor. Got all the wiper and cowl stuff off, still need to remove the wipers.

Not bad for a going on 45 year old Canadian Convertible.

Say what's that in the 1/4?

/QUOTE]That is an impressive list of accomplishments indeed, something to be very proud of. I was a late bloomer and wish I had started down my path earlier, but life sometimes gets in the way....I envy the position you have yourself at your age already. That is excellent....success will always be yours.

I'm only one step away from being outside with my car---so I remember those days like it was yesterday....I still have scars to prove it. LOL

The scars are half the Fun, make for good stories later too.

Nick
Don't about the fun part, but lots of funny stories, yes, lol. Cracking/skinning oil covered knuckles with a wrench in the middle of a cold *** February day with no gloves (couldn't afford them)...laughing no.....cursing left & right..YES,lol.

Could have been worse, you could have been laying under the car, with crap falling off the floors on your face like me. LOL
