'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

Progressing.

Rust incapsulator & Weld-thru primer.

As you can see the inside of my entire Frame rails were done with the Encapsulator and will also receive a coat of DOM 16 (Canadian Product like POR 15), as well as a good coat of under coating.

How much of those rails are you replacing?

Nick, you must of had one hell of a vision when you looked at this car for the first time and said "Hell Yes, I'm Doing This"!!!!

If it has a hole that shouldn't be there it's going to be replaced, smaller stuff will get patches.

Nick, you must of had one hell of a vision when you looked at this car for the first time and said "Hell Yes, I'm Doing This"!!!!

When I saw it for the first time I wasn't sure what to think of it, I went and got my dad who also took a look at both cars, then I made my offer of $400 for the two cars and left, he called me two days later and told me to bring the cash and a trailer, the rest is history.

The minute I sat behind the wheel of this car I knew I'd be in that position again except with it under it's own power and the top down cruising down a country road.

Nick, repost a pic of the way you found her again, please?

Don't have how I exactly found them (In the guy's backyard, the white car in a homemade garage, the brown car in the corner of the yard sinking into the ground.) But this is what they looked like when I got them to my uncles.

These first two are photo's he had in his ad on Kijiji

The night I brought the first car home, I took this photo at 11:57 PM, it was a long day.

And this is how they looked at my uncles as aforementioned

Thanks Bob, you guys have certainly made it easier with your warm comments.

Did a whole lot more work today, weather was very nice and warm, tomorrow is supposed to be nice as well and I'll start the welding of the rear frame sections.

Price was right and with all the great work you're doing you will have years of enjoyment out of it with a relatively low investment. Job well done!

I second that........I don't think you'll ever have a rust issue again with all the restoration you have done!!!

According to my receits, investment is just over $142.87 so far.............

Bob, If I'm doing it, I'm doing it right, if I ever have rust on or in this car again, I'll eat my Mopar hat.

He will if he drives in a Canadian winter...but I doubt that will happen.
Mr C, I barely drive my truck in the Winter, the Fury will go nighty Night every winter and not emerge till the spring.

I appreciate the kind words guys.

Getting there, tomorrow will be a day to weld. My Goal is to have the frame rails finished by Thursday, From Thursday to Sunday I'll put the trunk floor in and put the two interior floor panels I cut out to access the frame back in, then I'll seam seal, and finish the body off with a finer grit, then engine and trans next week and get it ready to haul up to Port Perry (30 minutes north of me) for body work.
