'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

Official date after a long argument (more of a you told me this date, how come) this morning with my bodyman will be May 18th, I have to have the car at his house that morning. He has a plane to finished then the Fury comes into Priority, gives me plenty of time to finish my end of it luckily.

My weeks progress among other things, spent some time running around pickup up a few things for my bodyman (using my company discount of course) I'm still getting a hang of this welding when it's 82 F thing, I'm used to welding when it's cold, this is horse crap.

My Frame rails are now solid to just in front of the differential.

There just coated with weld thru primer and I will go back and weld them up a bit more.

Thanks for mentioning the weld through primer. I am showing my ignorance I didn’t realize there was such a product. I was looking at your spot welds with primer over them and thought that is a great patch but that isn’t like Nick to leave the patch welding uncompleted. Looking good.

It's a Zinc Rich primer that enables the ability to be welded through and still achieve good weld penetration, neat stuff and not to bad, $16.99 over the shelf at most body supply stores, luckily I get my 20% company discount and that takes care of the taxes and 7% off of the sale.

slowly but surely I will put it back together.

Turns out my shop coat is flammable in the crotch area and the lower stomach area, the crotch part was scary to say the least.

Nick

and yes I'm not done welding, still have a few area's to go back and finish off.

Still working on my frame rails, should have them finished by the end of tomorrow, then I'll attack the area below the tail light panel, then hopefully by Friday or Saturday I can start putting my new pans in, and then the engine/trans comes out

Spent some more time on the car today, Also installed my new-used lightly modified Receiver hitch a buddy gave me when he cleaned out his shop, makes hauling a car trailer a bit easier on my rig, And yes my Truck is Green (Teal actually) too.

And yes the left pipe is hanging lower than the right, I had to use the hole the factory made that the exhaust shop used for the hanger when the previous owner did the exhaust.
