'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

You can still get the original orange wire sets through Mopar for less than $90.

"Reproduction date coded" is a genuine paradox IMHO.
Bet they come in a blistered bluff package. :)

To me a car is original only once the way it came out of the factory, so after the wires have to be replaced then I don't care about date codes anymore; I'd put on the same versions that were used before but putting ones on with correct date codes doesn't make them any better, it is actually a little lie.
I have to admit that I don't throw such parts away but keep them in a box if they're factory parts, also but not only as a reference.:)

The Taylor Street Thunders are Black and I can get them for $31.97. I've used them before on other peoples stuff and no complaints, so I'll run them.

As far as date coded, I have '70+ road wheels, '79 Mirrors, and a few other non original C body parts (I have a few parts from some of Ma Mopars other children)

I don't Care about date codes, I care about how it looks and performs.

Put in a good few ours today and plan to do the same, the interior floors will be finished tomorrow morning and by afternoon will have a coat of DOM 16 on them.

it was scary how easy the 3 panels I put in went, I must be getting good at this.

You could go up a bit in welding current where you spot weld to the frame rails for deeper weld through.
Keep up the good work.

Good job Nick!
Thanks Bob.

We all know that already, I like the original wire look on an original engine bay in an original car.
I wish I had the last 2 to justify the first Dave.

I ended up going back over my welds to day with higher Current, made a bit of a difference.

Other than making one terrible mistake today, everything went well, the mistake was that I went inside to clean myself up a bit and have a chomp from the feed bag, and it rained in flash flood style, so my poor Fury got wet. It didn't like that.

Now that I have muttered every word in the dictionary and Chanted "Rust is the Enemy" I'm a happy Camper.
