'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

Looks like good progress being made. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming.
Thanks I appreciate it, it's a labor of love,

Anyway, made sure nothing got too messed up by the water and tinkered a bit today, mostly took some measurements and etc.

Ended up working all morning painting a friends shop, but hey, I'm not going to turn down $12 an hour for an easy job (I'm not affraid of heights like his employee's)

Besides, my truck needs brakes, bearings, shocks and the transmission is on it's last legs.

and then there's this Plymouth I know of that needs some financial support

looks great. just the inspiration i needed to get back to work on my floors. sending a pm your way nick.

My truck is forcing my hand right now, it's getting my money and attention (transmission rebuild, 4L60E, '93 was the first year they used it in the 1/2 tons and of course mines a '93, $900 later in parts, Stage 1 shift kit, all updates, all upgrades, HD Trailering Torque converter, Corvette servo's, Aluminum accumulator, truckmaster rebuild kit, .500 boost valve)

Anyway found this.

Miss Ivy is looking good..... Be ready for paint before long.

I actually spend 90% of my time at work on Non-Domestic brands, lots of BMW's (no-one else will touch them) and quite a few Hyundai's and Kia's.

My bodyman is pissing me off and keeps giving my time away to other jobs, so I'll save some more cash and have someone else paint him next year :censored:

Nick, is that the steering wheel that you are going to use?
Yes it is, I'll pull it off and swap it with the one for the parts car when I go to restore it.

Nick

in the meantime, if anything can go wrong it will go wrong, to me.........

So, got two of the big panels in the trunk, will build new gas tank strap brackets this week and put the crossmembers back in, by the end of this coming weekend I want the trunk done and everything sealed and painted from the firewall to the tail light panel.

Good and bad news, not that is a unusual thing these days,

The Good, my parents have offered to loan me enough to have the Fury painted this year, the thing that sealed the deal was my dad seeing the car for the first time in a few months then seeing a F8 '69 Superbee at a cruise night, that and the fact that I'm not like everyone's kids they know (drugs, drinking, trouble, unemployed, summer school, having to repeat a grade ETC)

So as my dad put it, it's a interest free gift for not screwing up my life.

the Bad, this weekend is a write off, On Saturday, I have to hit the scrapyard, then go help a friend get his Studebaker from the bodyshop, then help my brother with his new deck then go and Take the Duster to a show.

Sunday I have made plans to do more work on my toy though.

Your parents did a hell of a job raising you!

I would be proud to call you Son too!!!

Hey Nick, it's great that the old man is in a position to help out & realizes how much you deserve it. I cant wait to see this car in Ivy (my youngest daughter's name by the way if I haven't mentioned that already).
