so uhh progress..........................there's been none............

I've had the 4 day week from hell;
I payed for my trans in my truck to be rebuilt ($1100, and a $58 towing bill this morning when I had no reverse, popped a fuse and it wouldn't shift)
I bought new U joints (took 2 trips o the parts store to get the right ones.........$50 my cost later)

And I got a phone call this morning from my Apprenticeship director, telling me I'm going to have to wait another year to start my level 2 (a 36 week course)

So 3 and out hopefully...................

Going to the scrapyard in the morning to get our resident Pimp some taillights for his Polara then off to the Fury for a while.

Don't you just love the new College of Trades? $60/yr for you apprentices for what?? They're trying to suck $120 a year out of me to keep up my IP. Screw them. I'm retired and have my Alberta Masters anyway.

College of Trades is well........................Ridiculous is putting it nicely, it's getting mixed reviews in the Automotive trade magazines SSGM (Service Station & Garage management) and CAT (Canadian Auto Technician), both are bringing up points on both sides of the fence, but I should really scan one letter they published from a shop owner in Hamilton I believe, he put it perfectly, "If it's a governing body for Tradespeople, why isn't it going to be ran by retired trades people, and have meetings with Tradespeople, The Public, Apprentices and the Government. Why shouldn't it work for us if we're paying for it"

When I received my letter in the mail I was a little outraged to say the least.

Well didn't get a chance to play with on my Plymouth, but I did get a chance to get a few things from the scrapyard, and I got a chance to sit and talk to my boss and his wife outside of work at my co-workers son's birthday party, for us being a small company, I think us having a good overall relationship isn't a bad thing.

Tomorrow I have 10,000 things I'd like to do on the Fury.

Those scrap yards are getting few and far between. Nice score on the parts. What are your plans for the 67 Dodge tail light? Do you have another project?

That one is for me. Thanks again, Nick.

The Taillight is for Ross' Polara
That one is for me. Thanks again, Nick.

No Problem Ross, anything for a fellow C Body owner.

Well almost 1 year since the day I hauled Angel and Turd home, And I spent the evening working on him, getting somewhere, My battery died or I'd have showed where I'm at with the trunk, I'm nearly finished now.

I kinda miss his early days.

Nick:

I came to the party late. I just signed up on FCBO recently and didn't discover this thread until yesterday afternoon. I don't know when I have enjoyed an internet thread of any kind as much as I have enjoyed reading this one. I am truly impressed with the job you are doing with this restoration. I am even more impressed with you as a young man of seventeen who has his act so together. I don't think I got my act together as well until I was forty. . .

Again, thank you for sharing this project with us. I too will be at Carlisle next year, so I can see your car, and I hope to meet you in person.

That is amazing I wish I had a 1/4 of your motivation. I don't have nearly the work to do that you did and nothing but it does get me thinking.

If you see the car, come up and introduce yourself, I really enjoy meeting fellow Mopar folks!
To re-hash an old phrase "you've come a long way, baby".
Thanks Mr. C, it really has, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My Motivation is the 450 miles to Carlisle next July!

I appreciate all the kind comments Guys, they have proved to help keep me motivated.

Welding is Fun, okay, it's not fun, but it doesn't suck either.

Well 1 year later, here's where I'm at. I started working and received a tap on my shoulder, it was my uncle with a visitor, Craig, he wanted to have a look at my Fury, he's a fellow Mopar guy, he has a '68 Dart, '72 Demon and a '64 Dodge 330 thats he's currently working on, we chatted Mopars, talked the availability of parts, he likes the roadwheels, he likes the F8, He told me if I need anything at all, give him a call, he'd be more than happy to help, He also told me if I need parts don't hesitate to call if he doesn't have it he'll try and find it. We parted with a customary "See you at MoparFest"
