'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

I don't know how I missed Commando's spectacular hijack of this thread. **** that guy for taking a shot at Joey. How could he possibly know his motivation. I obviously don't know Joey well but he seems like a pretty reasonable guy & if he's making a buck on this then god bless him.

He should have said the same five crotchety knitters though if he'd been paying attention at all. ;)

Was never able to get my login to work on that site, typical forum to forum banter and mudslinging, like all things, theres the good, the bad and of Course the ugly.

As there will be a lot of welding to do I'd also recommend to use some weld throu primer for the spots where two or more parts overlap. It makes quite a difference in the long run for rust prevention. Don't know what to recommend in your country offerings will be different but you'll find something good searching the internet, there will be the spray on type or more of a paste to paint on with a brush both have their advantages.

It's nice to have two forums, since I'm always looking for information and to meet new people. We are a rare breed of car owners.

Actually I think there might be 2 or 3 more websites for c body Chryslers....or at least they have sections on c body cars.

Stans on the mark.... they get their panties in a bunch when something goes out of line, but dont get me wrong, I love the Drydock. I have been there since its inception and even before on the first two Drydocks ........

Migs are great, Rust isn't, almost wish I bought a Vette, Fiberglass soesn't rust, just crack.

Yes I'm a butcher of a welder, but the welds are strong and penetrated deep into the metal, so I'm pretty pleased.

New Vettes are not fiberglass. The old ones were. And I'm assuming that Vettes you would consider are the older F/G ones.
You don't want one. Fiberglass was horrible body material for cars.
