'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

A friend was a geezer from the day he was born.
His father and older brother were the ultimate geezer.
Now we're well into our geezer sixties. He acts 95....

My grandpa sat me down after dinner tonight. He said he had been thinking and that he wanted to help me, but he knew that I wouldn't let him do it threw monetary donations, so instead he wanted to give me what I needed most, a Garage.

Around here that wouldn't be easy..........So grandpa proposed a different solution, "I have a big empty Garage, well it's sort of like a garage mixed with a barn, but regardless, it's dry, it has a concrete floor and two big barn doors on each side, it has electricity and if you want it, it's yours, you can work out there from dawn till dawn if you want, No one will tell you that you can't, it will be yours, and it won't cost you anything. I want to see you enjoy your car, I want to see you make your deadline and I want to see your car done, I don't have many more years grandson, and nothing more would make me happy then seeing you happy with something that you can continue to enjoy even after I'm gone."

After I put myself back together.............................I not only thanked my grandpa, but I took him up on his offer.

I called a buddy of mine that I went to School with, he works for a Towing & Auto service place, and he loves big old fullsizes (he had a New Yorker and a Delta 88) and he gave me a cash price to haul Angel on a flatbed from my uncles to my grandpa's. Which is a 2 hour hike, thats really the only downside, the distance, another upside is the Girlfriends parents have a cottage about 25 minutes away from Grandpa's that she's usually at on weekends, so me going up and Plymouth-ing won't be an issue..........

Awesome news Nick !!!!!!!!!!!! :yaayy: you must be ecstatic.

your sir are a lucky man to have such a wonderful grandfather in your life.
:love3:

Plymouth-ing, is that what they call it up in Canada?? When will you have time to work on your car?

Grandpa saw your dedication. I think he was waiting for you to prove yourself. And, of course, you did.
Great addition to the whole story.

Oh Paul, you're absolutely wrong about that.

Well there's also tears of frustration, like getting your fourth pair of cracked tail light lenses, and tears of pure rage, like when you find a half inch of bondo and duct-taped wiring connections. But mostly, I'll agree with tears of love.

Spent this weekend playing with toys :p

and yes its a real Hemi R/T that was delivered in Ontario, body in white. Restored to as raced condition, and yes I begged the owner for a ride in it and he has agreed at our club event at the strip :D 10247318_10154041533120383_3453849607684227670_n.jpg

More pictures later.

Is "Plymouth-ing" a euphemism for something really fun ?

Sorry to be redundant. . . I missed Matt's post. . .

I meant working on my Plymouth ;) up here we call the other means of enjoyment and pleasure the same thing you do LOL

So Some more photo's...........I'm still waiting on my friend to send me some of the ones he took for me.

Got the whole crew to sign my spare valve cover, A few crew members were surprised that I wanted their signature and that I didn't just want the "star". That made them feel good and I was thankful of the stories and advice I got from them!

Nothing like having dinner with your drag racing hero and his whole (remaining) crew.

My club president also gave me something for the Fury on Loan. Our deal is that I give him these back when/if I find a better set, and if I sell them, he'll kill me.
