this trunk was a bit of a mystery..at first thought prievious owner bought to replace exsisting but was 73..couldnt figure it out till l took good look at it and found the electric trunk lock...thats what he was after,,trunk lid was just a bonus lm thinkin

phew...sundays over....

That is one fine GT, loaded with unique, numerous options. And a Brougham no less! Just have to wonder who would have ordered that car in the very unusual way they did. I am sure it will be stunning when done.

Great way to document it before making the journey. Will they be sending you progress reports with pics regularly?

I wish I had been there when Bill came. I would like to have seen the finished product. Based on what I have seen of Paul's work, that GT will be a stunner.

yes....this is the build of the 70 convertable above/documentation..will be lots of pics..

Bills build pics from same restorer..Paul will be doing the restoration as l simply dont have the time
http://mounteer.ca/fury/Restoration/Paul0.html .......just follow the next tab to follow the restoration

Wow! that 70 convertible is what mine is supposed to look like. A few years ago a friend me to come over and pick anything I wanted off a 71 sport fury I wanted. Except Motor and Tranny of course. it was in many ways a twin to yours. I used some small parts but still have the Front bumper and grille system and the rear fender skirts.

just a little history on the car...car was one of 34-36? that came to Canada...car was sold orriginally outa Prince Albert Saskatewan..l bought the car outa Saskatoon..preivious owner remembers it new sitting on dealer lot...in 71 Prince Alberta woulda been the boondocks..no idea how this car ended up there of all places..was a Y16 sales bank car so mayby they were forced to take it....
Car was in one family since new and orriginall owner passed on and his brother inherited it and parked it..still in process of trying to track down brother
now the prievious owner to me was out looking at a car to buy and saw the GT next door and jumped at the opp to buy it and buy it he did..he never realy got the chance to work on it as he sucumed to prostate cancer..as it turns out lm battleing it now as well but lm gona win this fight and finish this car for the both of us...
Prievious owner and his brother used to boot down to the states on road trips hittin wrecking yards ect and would grab anything usefull for the 70-71 furys to the point when l bought car found trunk full of rare and hard to find parts..what was in trunk...
vid

along with those parts were 3 lower air dams to replace damaged ones
gotta give him and his wife Anne credit for saveing car...he had pulled vynal to save roof and had pulled carpet to save floors and had stored car in garage..Anne continued to inshure car and left it in the garage till l bought it..when cars finished will be takeing her for a ride so she can see her late husbands dream..only fitting
now the task falls to me to enshure the car survives for the next owner when l kick off..many many years down the road..

Great story, and I wish you well. If you should want the fender skirts you are more than welcome to them. even the right color.
