The condition of what you took out doesn't matter. What matters is what you put back in.
I'll send the original stuff to you & you can decide whether to use your magic wand or your turd polisher. You'll have to make the call when you see it.

Stormer,

Was wondering.. When you get this car, can you send a couple picture's of the sunroof open? The tracks, and cords? All the good stuff? I've got a '73 newport with a sunroof, and have never had it open. I got it open about 5 inches or so... But was afraid to go any further, as I have no clue what I'm gettin into. I emailed the seller for some, but never got a response.

Also, if polara71 is not interested in your white interior, I might be. Let me know.. I'm in no hurry, but would like to know

Congradulations on getting the car (hopefully). She sure does look nice!

You just don't get it. Nobody is saying you need to keep the original *materials*. But you need to respect the original color and design in a car like this. C'mon, man, open your eyes!

The A/C might work OK with a recharge...but the big A/C-Heater control module on the pass. side inner fender is probably toast. They controlled everything through this module. SO if this is shot you will never get proper heating, or cooling. You can get them rebuilt...ain't cheap though.

This is the unit...

I'll be happy to send you some pictures of the sunroof if I actually get my hands on this car. I'm real leery of sunroofs myself. The sunroof on my 09 Challenger acted funny one time & I haven't touched it since.

The white interior that I removed literally stinks. Like, really stinks. The car sat outside in FLA for a really long time with no protection from all that salt & humidity. Lot's of creepy crawly's living in it. I'm not sure that you want it.

I just came across your build thread today. I love it! The bluesmobile deal is not for me but I love that you've done all that yourself & also love how you've endured the bashing here with a smile. I also love how the long time members here have embraced you even though they just hate what you've done to the car. They actually took it pretty easy on you.

Hell, he can probably take his sawzall to the roof and send you the entire thing. :icon_evil:

The folgers can?

Just kidding. It's a crazy looking contraption though. These cars were so far ahead of their time it's ridiculous. Auto temperature control, auto headlights, self dimming headlights. Unbelievable.

I don't think I'm getting any additional pictures tonight.
